VQ35 swap, why am i running so damn rich?!?!?!?

so after the swap i thought my gas milage would go up, but it dropped, HORRIBLY!!!!

my exhaust fumes smell like straight gas, i backfire alot, and a full tank last me about 220 miles if i always shift at 2.5k.

i just gave it a full tuneup, minus the fuel filter cuz advance auto didnt have it in stock.

wtf is up? anyone else running crazy rich?

You need a piggyback controller and wideband to tune the air/fuel ratio, since you're running VQ35 injectors it will run richer.

A. I thought you wrecked your car?
B. Get a Z32 fuel filter (Doesn't matter TT/NA)
C. Don't know how you got away w/o tuning it before, but obviously you're not as lucky as Jose is... Jose (Too many Jose's...)
D. Even I'm running rich.

Turn down your fuel pressure, if you have an AFPR that is...

Do you have a wideband to see what your a/f ratio is?

3.5 L injectors run richer, Like it was suggested get a piggyback and a wideband that should fix your issues. All 3.5 swaps run rich including mine.

Yeah you have to tune the car after the swap. My girls car was in the 10's at one point.

OK, what is a piggyback and wideband? Excuse the noob, but could you please clairfy with correct nomenclature and/or brand names of such devices. Thanks. I'm about to drop in my 3.5 and I'm a little apprehensive about all these rich problems that I've read about. I am going to be using an AFPR, will this eliminate need for piggyback etc.?

What's your fuel pressure? Run about 34 @ idle with vacuum line connected & it will be pretty damn spot on, enough that you can get it perfect with an afc if you want to but almost won't even need to, at least not right away or it being a necessity. If you run it to rich and try to pull to much via a piggyback maf tune you'll be chasing your tail anyways, so drop that FP way down first.
