Radio wire Harness..now where do these wires go?

So my factory non-bose factory radio was acting up and I was in the market for another radio. I picked up a Sony CDX-GT200 (AM/FM + MP3).

Reading thru these forums I was successfully able to dis-assemble and remove the radio.

I bought a wire-harness ($20!!), along with a single holder..here's my fustrating problem..I dunno how to connect the wire-harness..

Here's the wireharness that plugs to my new Sony radio.(Almost new.I bought it used for $50)/ Pic 1

Here's a close-up of that same harness: Pic 2

Now, I bought this wireharness so I don't have to cut anything. I just separated the wires a little for better viewing. The little black tape connects to the maxima's wire harness no problem, but my problem is how to connect it to the above pic? The colors almost match but not quite line up...Pic 3

A closer view from the above pic: Pic 4
You'll see that the first bank is color red and black (left side) (I think they are for antenna and ground, but on the radio harness from about the first bank is yellow and black, and the red is in the second bank.
4.

This is my only stumbling block and my weakest link..installing radios is not my speciality.

Thanks for any help

I put 2 different Sony CDX-GT radios in my car, a basic model and then replaced it with a better one. Both radios used the same harness. I bought an adaptor set to plug into the Nissan harness. The colors of the wires in the Nissan harness adaptor are not the same as the Nissan harness. I don't understand the thing in picture 3, you need 2 plugs for the Nissan harness. You end up with a 3 plug "Y" connector, one for the Sony and 2 for the Nissan harness.

When I unplugged the factory radio there was 2 harness going to the radio (I think one of them is for the tape drive?), but the Sony radio only has 1 as seen in pic 1 above, is it safe to say that I don't need to plug in the other harness (Tape?) from the factory radio into the new radio (that doesn't have a tape).

When you bought your adapter, did you have to connect the wires like in pic 1 above?

Thanks

The Single connection from your sony deck is going to be spliced spread out into the Two different aftermarket adapters that will then connect to the Two factory plugs coming from car.

Dude, buy the Metra harness for the maxi. Its like 7 bucks on ebay. I dont know what u bought, but its missing a separate harness connector. The harness it is missing has the wires for the rears i think.

I jus wired up my sony radio 4 months ago. All the colors should match up exactly to the metra.

THe metra harness for the maxi comes as two connectors because the maxi wiring comes as 2 harnesses. In your pic u are missing wires for i think the rear speakers.

Just get the Metra, it will make your life much easier. Connect and tape from radio to metra then metra to car.

Tape meaning you need to connect the two wires (as in pic 1 to the harness) with black electricity tape together?

I'm trying to salvage what I have..if not, it's ebay time.

thanks

This is what you need.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-hhgjPhk...=harness&ssi=0

Those two connectors connect to pic #1. Meaning my pic plugs into factory, out of these TWO harness, they go into your SINGLE harness in PIC #1. You just match up the colors of the wires on my pic with your pic #1. Its as simple as that.

From what it looks like from your pic. you have two of the left connectors connected to each other or something. Anyways, where did you buy that?

Dude, it was ebay time before u even posted the third pic lol

Yeah, when u twist the two ends of the separate wires of exposed copper together u will need to wrap the copper in black electrical tape. THe black wire only wires to ONE other black wire and not both. (It will make sense when u get the correct harness). Also, the orange wires will not have any radio connects. Make sure to wrap the exposed copper for these wires in tape too.

Buy the metra harness off ebay or crutchfield. Once u have it, the wiring will be obvious.

For future reference, stick to Metra. That harness looks like a Scosche; and Scosche in my opinion, is ****. When I helped a buddy of mine install his Sony deck in his Altima, we had bought the "car installation kit" that ended up leaving a 1/2 inch gap and looked like ***. So we ordered a Metra kit and it looks beautiful now.

Your sooo right! I also have a 1/4" gap and looks like crap and yeah it's a Scosche. I only bought it because it was local...if only I would have known it looked this bad.

okay heres how these wires go:

Red is 12 v

Yellow is Ignition/Accesory

Black is Ground

Blue is Antenna

Blue/white is Power Amp

White White/black is Left Front Speaker Wire

Purple Purple/black is Right Rear Speaker Wire

Grey Grey/black is Right Front Speaker Wire

Green Green/Black is Left Rear Speaker Wire........

these are all you need for your radio to work properly......

so whats trying to be said is you have the wrong harness adapter...... the one i think you bought, the regular harness, and not the bose adapter harness which are 2 seperate harnesses.
hope this helps, sorry for the late response.

I have a '97 Maxima GE with basic (Non Bose) tape deck/radio.
Now, the harness is not the only way to go, I know. Wires can be spliced together.
But, there must be an adapter for the "two-pronged" antenna plug, no?
My Pioneer DEHP2900 has the traditional "single" plug.
Also, the deck appears to have never been removed before as the bolts are extremely tight. I oiled them and still they are in there for good.
Is there a method for removing these? An impact wrench, perhaps?

Using a harness is the BEST way to go because you leave all the factory wiring intact and you don't have to look at diagrams or guess when tapping into the wires. And yes, there is a Nissan antenna adapter ($10-15) so you can keep enjoying your favorite radio stations. Here it is: http://us.ebid.net/for-sale/1996-nis...rom=googlebase

As far as the screws go, just keep doing what you're doing (screwdriver, power drill, etc) until they come out. If you happen to strip em, you'll need a screw extractor set (about 10 bucks or so) to retrieve em. Then install your new pioneer with the screws supplied.
