WTB: Trunk board & fog light (passenger)

I want to buy a new trunk board. A trunk board cover the spare tire. Called Nissan here in Washington and they wanted $130, HELL NO.

I went to Home Depot to find some materials for a replacement but they weren't to helpful (a lot of pointing and aisle numbers). What happened to customer service??? I brought in the warped one as an example and described how I wanted it the new one stronger and wanted to waterproof it. I ended up walking out the store with what I DIDN'T WANT.

Anyways, to save me time and energy, if I can get one in better shape, I won't put any water or coolant in the trunk anymore even though I'll probably waterproof this one.

In addition, I would like to buy a fog light for the passenger side on my '99 SE but I might buy a pair for the right price.

Of course I want the items in the best condition possible (especially the trunk board) pictures would be appropriate.

Thanks
Jean

Why not try fixing it yourself?
I was thinking getting some metal or heavy duty plastic reinforcement pieces, and superglue/drill/something on to them. The pieces will have to be v shaped to prevent bending, or flat and make sure you secure the ends properly.
Just a thought.

Good Luck with a purchase.

I see your a college student too, so we're on the same page. I would love to fix it myself, I would get great satisfaction that. I probably should to try another store and find someone more helpful.

I just figured if I could get one in good condition that would eliminate that whole scenario.

Thanks for your input

pavelsmax, thanks for the referral

represent24 - You might still want to waterproof your trunk. My board is made of MDF, which is not waterproof.

When you say waterproof, do you mean the whole trunk or the board itself?

Well your trunk SHOULD be waterproof. If it's not the water is most likely coming in through your tail lights.

My board is not waterproof - you should probably fix your water issues before installing the board.

I see. My trunk is okay. The weatherstripping and everything is cool. I messed up my trunk board because some coolant spilled in my trunk, then some water.
