Wrecked My 99

So Tuesday morning I was on my way to college and going into the third lane on the freeway, when a someone in a white truck dropped a cabinet and patio table in fromt of me going 65mph. I hit my brakes and tried to swerve out of the way but ended up clipping the debris, did a 360 across 3 lanes of traffic, over a median inbetween the freeway and the busy onramp, then down a ravine sideways and ended up in a tree. Airbags didn't deploy, and all my windows were down so I was good there. I ended up denting the rear passenger side decently, braking the passenger tail light, the drivers side corner light and running lights. Didn't brake any of the 350Z Rims that were on the car, all the tires are still good, but did bend the rear passenger side axel a bit. Overall after the hosptal stay, after slamming my head on the steering wheel I'm ok. Tomorrow I'm gonna go get it out of the impound lot, and fix her. She had 236,000 miles and was in perfect working order when the accident happened. Just thought I'd share my misfortune with my buddies on the org.

Yeah I was looking ontp buying a different one as well. I'm going to pay the 300 for the impound because the system is worth about 1000, and I have AAA so I have a free tow, and it isn't classified as totaled, so I can't get anything for it. Luckily I have a Q45 as a second car so atleast I had something to fall back on.

No I didn't get the guy but I was furious when I got out of the car, scared the cops decently because I'm pretty big, 6'3" 230. Thanks for the concern

Really that is what counts, and people who can't just spend 8 bucks for straps at Home Depot and 5 minutes of their time to tie it down just shouldn't drive.

glad you're okay. i know it hurts to see your MAX like that. it could've been a lot worse if you would've been texting.

I think had you not swerved, a table and cabinet wouldn't have done more damage than some dents on your hood and roof and a cracked windshield.. and you could've pulled over afterwards. No hospital visit! Thats what i would have done.

I don't understand why you have to pay your deductible. That is akin to saying the accident was your fault. Can't you argue that it wasn't and go after the truck driver's insurance company to pay your deductible?

Good luck assessing all of that in the time you have when something like that actually happens. There's really no right way out in a situation like that. You just have to scrub off as much momentum as you can and try to avoid hitting anything big.

OP, glad you're OK. Always sad to see a good car wrecked though.
