Hey, the max is a 04, original hids. Is it just me or the light is really poor? My gf car with halogen light up the road more than my hids.
What is it? bulbs are worn and need replacing? Color looks ok....
Should I order new philips bulbs? (no, I wont put crappy korean bulbs that last a 6months in there....)

Yeah, I replaced my HIDs not too long ago, it makes a HUGE difference. Replaced them when the car had about 74k miles, felt like the HIDs weren't as bright as they should be. I'm just trying out some cheapo ebay ones, see how long they'll last; but they're nice & bright white (4300k). I have some Osrams laying around somewhere, just wanted something 'new'.
Ive notice that my lightw was not bright but when i changed my battery and corroded terminals. they seem bright as it they were brand new. i think that it was the corrosion from the terminal not letting the electrical parts ground right.
I dont know, I mean, I have hids, but cars with halogens light up more than me.
"cloudy lenses" ? I dont know? What would you guys do? Im thinking about buying a new set of philips. Car has 6 years, maybe the bulbs are just almost dead?
I wont go asian crap for sure, Ive been through 4 sets of 55w hids in 2 years..... sick of changing burnt bulbs.

They are aimed like that on purpose. So you don't blind the person driving toward you with the left one and the right one lights up a little more on the side of the road so you can see road signs or pedestrians.
I get the general impression from the other poster that there's a significant difference, one worth re-aiming, hence my suggestion. Yes, drivers side light is pitched a bit to the right to prevent directly lighting oncoming traffic lanes, but it should still be aimed at the same height/distance as the passenger side.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Someone said once that the auto lamp on and turning the switch manual had a difference with the light output.
Something about the initial 12volt required to ignite the hids. Starting the car with the hid system might cause it to burn less intense.

I am also thinking of trying ebay HIDs... how is your experience so far? The problem is that its a pain to change them... so want to be sure before I do it
