BFG gForce T/A Drag Radials it is...

After caferfull consideration I have ordered a set of 225/50/15 BFG gForce T/A Drag Radials. I will be mounting them on Kosei K1 15x7's. The rims weigh 13.5# and the tires are 24.5#, total 38#. The standard Comp T/A Drag Radials are being replaced by these, and will not be available after a while. Nitto did not make the size I wanted in the 555R, and the thought of broked axles and trans parts ruled out slicks, so the choice was simple.

With the lower gear ratio of a 225/50/15, extra stickeyness of the drag compound and relativly light weight of this set up, I am really looking for sub 2.0 60 foot times at the strip.

Yes I do have an addiction

Dont worry, i have the same prob too.

I am going with the BFG Comp T/S's 205/50/15 for the 6.4% in reduction of gear ratio from 225/50/16's.

I just wonder how much it well drop my 60ft now. I am running 2.2's in my auto.

I figured since im auto i didnt need 225's.

I have to disagree of the size. That is way to big. You would have been gine with a 205/50/15 from bf goodrich. YES i know its small, but it gives the maxima a great gear ratio settup. I changed from 225/50/15 to 205/50/15 and my mph went from 95 to 98 in the 1/4 and time went from 14.5 to 14.0. I could pull low 2.0 60' with those tires vs. 2.1 with the big 225/ and I know I could have got 1.9s but it was 200 degrees in the middle of summer down here in florida. I have over 600 timeslips and I know what works and what does not work for me. Just passing on info.
I have bran new BF Gs if you are interested.

So you have think that even with a boosted Max 205's will hook up? I'm not worried about second gear the quaife takes car of that, its first gear that is the reason I need the DR's.

After a nice chat with 98MAX I have changed my order to 205/50-15. When I am in the big end of the 1/4 mile I cross the traps in 4th gear at ~5000rpms. With the lower gear ratio I hope to cross the traps closer to redline in 4th so I can take full advantage of peak boost power in 4th. Not to mention 98MAX was getting some low 1.9xx-2.0xx 60ft times with the same size DR's. That alone will cut some serious time. Thanks for your help Kevin.

Here's what your car will look like on the drag radials. I had the same size tires and they work great. I installed them before I left my house and drove 45 miles to the track. Car looks a little funny but they are great on the street too.
