Pwr Window and Lock switches not working..

This is on an 04 SL. I have checked the fuses in the cabin and the relays under hood without any luck. Has anyone had any trouble with the switches inside going dead like this? None of the switches on any of the doors work. Thanks in advance

Im assuming you've checked that the lock out button isn't on?

Pop the drivers door switch panel out and make sure both plugs are attached properly.

Yeah that was where I started was a loose connector or wire. I reset the ecu last night. The switches worked just long enough to get my window back up then it went out again. Maybe something with the remote control box. I can hear the click of the mechanism trying to work under the dash but there is no action. Lights flash but dont lock the doors and of course the door switches dont work.

You said that you checked the relays under the hood, did you check the mini fuses under the hood? I'm pretty sure that one of the fuses under the hood is for the power windows. Also, there are 2 fuse boxes under the hood. One is just to the left of the battery, and the other is on the passenger side, just to the right of the antifreeze overflow jug.

Yeah checked the mini fuses under the hood as well. I am thinking that this maybe a problem with the keey fob control box. The switches worked after I left the battery unhooked all night, but as soon as I hit a button on the fob everything stopped again. Going to unhook the battery again and see if I can recreate what happened this morning. Anyone know where the control module for the key fob is in the car. By the sound I would think it is by the fuse box in the car?

bump

I unhook the battery and the switches will work for a little while. Then they give out again. I also noticed tonight on the way home that the back lighting for the switches will go on and off intermittently. I got under the car this weekend and checked as many connectors as I could find.

Does anyone know where the control box for the electric door locks, windows.

I believe that all of those functions go through the BCM (body control module). It is located under the steering column, it has 3 wire harness that plug into it.

Update. Ends up the BcM is bad. Thanks for the heads up 1hawaii50. Installed the new one and find out after the fact they have to be programmed in, the transponder keys work thru the BCM as well. Thank God I could plug the old BCM in and it still let me start the car. Taking it to Nissan tomorrow for programming. They charge 1.5hrs at $85 an hour. This normal? I do most of my own work so I am not sure when the labor charge is a rip off. Thanks again for the input.

Sorry to hear that the BCM is bad. Where did you get your replacement BMC from? As far as labor charges...they go from about $75 to over $100/hour, so $85 is pretty much spot on for a dealership. I think I damaged my BCM, but luckily it only seems to be affecting the circuit that lights the ignition ring light.
