Anybody remove the crank pulley with engine out?

Just wondering if you guys had done this...its been giving me some trouble..I was trying to swap it out before I install the engine...I guess I could wait to get the engine back in and bump the starter. Installing a cosmo UDP. The stage 2 exedy is coming tomorrow but I have to wait until advance auto gets in my pilot bearing before install. Also waiting on my o2sim. for the new headers/y to show up. I'd like to get as much done while the engine is out. Thanks.

there is just no way to give the crank counterforce while trying to remove it...you can try wedging things between the pulley and the block or the flywheel and the block but it will tear up the aluminum. I just havnt found any good way to do it yet.

Powerful impact? Last time I did this with a 1 inch impact it took 0.5 second.
