Tein mounts do not work with 2.5" coilover springs. HT performance made me some delrin adaptors made to hold the springs.



The Tein mounts were machined down to accept the delrin bushings with a near interference fit. This is so only a little travel is lost with these adaptors.



Nice tight fit with self lubricating delrin, the springs will not slip.



2.5" coilover springs fit nicely.



The Tein mounts allow alot more suspension travel and are much better quality than the available rear mounts out there. Now I can safely use them with 2.5" coil over springs, these should work alot better than my existing setup with stock rear mounts and NISMO bushings. I will provide feedback once the car is back on the road.

 

Got the Konis back today and re-installed the rear suspension with the new Tein mounts.





I assembled one strut with my old mount and one strut with my new Tein mount. Both GC adjusters were set to the same ride height.

With the modified Tein mounts and the HTPerformance delrin spacers I gained about 0.5" of travel. When the rear struts were installed in the car I noticed the rear beam sat a little bit lower as well indicating more suspension travel.

I've yet to get the car on the ground but when I do there should be some drop from having the shorter mounts while still retaining the suspension travel the OEM strut setup has.

Got the car on the road today and wow, if anyone wants to slam the rear suspension 4.0" ~ 5.0" from stock ride height this is the modification for you!

At the highest setting on the GC adjusters the car sits 1.5" lower than stock with more suspension travel than stock. If I go all the way to the end it slams to around a 4.5" drop.

If the damn GC adjuster wasn't stuck in the strut I would set it to the higher setpoint on the Koni strut. The rear Konis come with two mounting points, one is higher if you are carrying alot of weight in the back. I need to use that higher mounting point cause the rear sits to low as is.

Another option is a coil over spring spacer. This is the easiest way to get the car to sit higher as I only want a 0.5~1.0" drop from the stock ride height.

However for those guys who want to really go low it is possible to get some top mount front strut plates made and run this style rear setup. I'm guessing on the measurements but you should be able to go 3.5" ~ 4.5" drop at all 4 corners on Koni/GCs and still have some suspension travel left.
