Maxima Import Faceoff Winners

Over the weekend Jaypee_99 and Phantom_V took first and second place in the All motor Street Class of Import Faceoff here at capitol raceway. I was on other forums and they were talking about "them maxima boys" winning the class so I figured I'd make a thread congratulating them on our home forum. I dont think the official results are up yet but the pics are in the gallery here www.importfaceoff.net.

That's sweet. Congrats to those guys.

I just went to the website and saw that there was actually an event at my old home track where I lived until last year and based on the results from that event I would have cleaned up... damn.

Also I beleive Phanton_V ran his PB against me. His car has 12's in it with better weather. This will be the last time I run in a big event on street tires smh.

Congratulations! I will be at the Dinwiddie event in August competing in the All Motor Pro class more than likely. I hope some Maxima guys can make it out and join me.

I was going to compete in this event, but when I heard about the $2500 purse at the SICC event in Fayetteville on that Saturday, I chose to make that event instead. Too bad it got rained out. A lot of the guys that were going to race in the SICC event made their way to Capitol and cleaned house. Miller and Pepsi both took wins. Can you believe running mid 10s in the AMP class? That's amazing! Did anybody get to see Pepsi's car (winner of AMP)? Civic with ITBs. Says NRG Tech and Drag Cartel on the hood.

I know he had the fastest time in our class but I dont know his exact time. It was super hot and I remember him saying he was having traction problems.

Yeah. I'm going to have to line up next to those guys at Dinwiddie. I don't stand a chance. But I think there's a decent chance I can make the semi-finals. Then I'll see what happens after that and hope someone misses a shift or something.

Hey you never know. I made it to the semis because the guy next to me redlighted. Anything could happen.

i dont... i like em to be honest... i wouldnt buy one over a maxima but i'd sure buy one, just because people make fun of them cause there's so many non car enthusiasts that try there own thing with em doesnt make em bad cars... can be very fast cars... no prob with me, that nissan/hinda rivalry has always been retarded to me, its like a given if you own a nissan you should hate honda's and vise versa smh... i'd buy a 6spd TL over a 6spd 5.5 sorry for the sell out

I'm probably going to go. But I will not be racing.

Sounds good Carson. I hope the really fast 10 second NA Civics don't show so I have a chance at making it to the finals!

you still going on Sunday? Me, my wife, dad, and brother should be getting there around 2. It looks like qualifying starts at 1200 then eliminations start at 330. I'll try to make it by to say hi while I am there.

I was actually going to post an update in this thread today. Some things came up and I'm too busy this week to prep my car for this event. I was planning to race in this event all year long, but I won't have my car ready in time. Sorry I can't make it.

My next event will be Sept 11th in Fayetteville, NC where I'll be in the All Motor class with a $2000 purse. I hope to have my new torque converter installed in time.
