Guage swap help/suggestions.

Hey guys,
i found a 96 white face guage cluster with the black needles at a u-pull it junk yard for my 99 max, and i tried to change them out and when i went to hook up the 96, the middle plug wouldnt fit in, but the other 2 would and nothing worked, not even the lights.
i tried to look around for any info on this but couldnt find any. i noticed the bulbs were different sizes too. I was wondering if i have any more options to do the swap that i want. i like the different black needles and not the orange ones i have.
also would like to know if they have blue bulbs in the size that i have in my guages because i dont know exactly how to LED stuff just yet. maybe there could be a more simple solution to making my stuff blue. lol
Thanks guys
~Francis

If I recall correctly, 95-97 gauges are different from 98-99, so you won't be able to simply swap those gauges around.

You can manually change the needles yourself. There is a write up on how to do it with the tachometer. Not sure if the same procedure applies to all the rest of needles.

You cant install 96 cluster in 99 since, the 98-99 have a digital obo where as 95-97 have analog. Manually changing needles will probably trow off the calibration of the gauges

The calibration will not be thrown off if done correctly following the thread. I have done it for my friends 96 SE max. He has the black needles but the one we got was from a 97 SE with the same white face but red needles. Followed the directions in the thread and it worked like a charm.

I just checked, i have a set of 95-96 guages laying around, and their guage bulbs are different than mine (99 se). Mine seem to be smaller, like the size of the CEL and ABS light bulb, what size is that?
