Got a 2ND Max Today

After fixing my car from the wreck and everything else, I was getting ready to do a tranny swap and go 5-speed but I will not have to anymore.

For some crazy reason something told me to check craigslist today for Maxs and Lord Behold there was a 5-speed 98 on there for $900. So thinking that this deal was too good to be true, I took my mechanic out there with me to check the car and everything and when we get there of course the car had lots of issues not mentioned in the add. Here is a small list of things wrong
  1. First gear is gone (needs a new clutch)
  2. Fly-Wheel is gone
  3. Motor Mounts bad
  4. Power steering hose leak
  5. Stare tire storage is collapsed (BIG hole there)
  6. Minor body work needed here and there
  7. Crappy paint job (dude did it himself and its a FAIL)
  8. Need driver and passanger seats (The ones in the car are bad)
  9. BUT THE ENGINE AND TRANNY ARE IN GREAT CONDITION
It might sound like a lot, but me and my now mechanic grew up together so he doesn't charge me nothing to do work to my car. He told me that if I have $400-500 he will fix all the mechanical issues with the car and possibly get me a new interior. And the guy that did the body work on my first Max won't charge me nothing to do the work on this one for me so I'm looking at another $150-200 in parts and of course the car will need a new paint job and I got that estimated at $500-600.

So just in repairs and maintance that I know I have to do I'm looking at $1100 up front, but the fact that I bought the car for $400 means that it would come out to about to $1500 for a 5-speed 98 that will have no other problems when all repairs are done with.

SO ALL IN ALL I CAN SAY I GOT A DEAL WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR

Thats a great deal. I love the fact that no matter how trashed the body can get on the 4th gen's, the engine is almost always in good condition. God bless vq's!

Here are a few pics I took while picking the car up. The car runs but I didn't want to drive it home with a bad clutch so I just used my Dad's tow truck and brought it home.

EDIT: Better pics coming later.

Yea it is right now but I have big plans for it.
I also have a guy that will do all my body work for me free of charge all I have to do is pay for parts but me being the person that I am will give him like 250-300 just because he will be doing body work on both my Max.
