Great idea - Here's mine.

Just stock, but kept clean and armor-all'd.

I'd like to see it naked, i.e. no cover.. and close ups of the TB/MAF/airbox too.

Front timing cover would be nice too ... And last but not least, the IM.

Does anyone have an ID for the MAF housing?

i usually run my car without the engine cover, so muchhh heat builds up with that cover.

Does anyone know if the engine compartment shrouds serve any function other than aesthetics?

Aside from retaining heat,

Nissan seems to add more and more as the years go by. The 4th gen had one small one over the coil packs ... the 5th gen AE had one that was a bit larger than the coil pack cover ... the 5.5 gen, had a large piece over most of the engine and IM, the A34 had that and some more smaller accessory covers for the fuse boxes etc. The A35, well heck, looks like they decided to cover everything in there.

WOW! That is an amazing job. Did you do that yourself or have it done at a paint shop? What kind of paint and what was the prep? That looks so friggin' sweet.

I went to stick a MAXUS2010 decal above the NYCMAX decal, but theshine I put on there a month ago killed that idea (even after an alcohol pad... oh well)

(pics are before I cleaned it )

well as for me, i painted mine myself and as for the other one, his man painted it for him.
as you can see from the two pictures, mine is anodized blue while his is red and thats why his red is more shine than my color

Man those look really nice. I'd need to save up though and get someone to do a custom paint job for me. Very jealous but kudos on awesome engine interiors.

I like it without all the covers. Maybe with an engine cover but that would be it.

What great ideas! Great DIY project for a foggy morning. For people like me that have trouble picking colors that go good together, I guess I'll need some professional opinions and ideas. The engine compartment on cars now is so drab with all the covers, but what a change the color makes. This is going to take some serious thought. You people need to calm all this down, I'll run out of funds too quick!

How did you do this? Did you just remove them and have them painted or what?

yep removed all the covers, and had them painted with a clear coat for that extra shiny look
