Some 00VI questions as I progress...

Hey

I didn't want to thread crap so I decided to make a small thread with question that may arise when I'm redoing my swap.

My swap is all 5th gen parts.

First question:

Can I bypass the coolant lines in my IACV? What is the function of the coolant lines? If it matters this car will not be winter driven (I live in Canada)

Second Question:

At the top left of the Upper Intake Manifold I have this blue box that has 2 hoses going into it. What is it and what does it do? It also has a 2 prong connector that would go into it.

Third Question:

Do people who swap to 00vi do some sort of bracket to hold the throttle body cables in place? If so any pics?

Thanks!

1. Yes you can bypass the coolant lines on the tb. If you do bypass the coolant, make sure you block off the coolant lines on tb or else you will have some unmetered air entering your engine.
2. Not sure. I'm guessing its evap related?
3. I used my 4th gen tb cable bracket and screwed it into one of the posts on the manifold near the tb. I bent the tabs back (away from the tb) a bit so the throttle cable and cruise control cable sit flush against it.

So what is really the point of coolant running through the TB? Actually it only runs near the IACV...
