I just held that piece in my hand on Friday and it seemed very flimsy but then again, there's just a small gap between my AVIC and the radio bezel. I have not personally used it but it looked like that would be it.

Its a real small gap, and mainly on the bottom if you decide not to use the kit.

Damn looks like no one else has used this kit or those who have, have not posted.

I personally dont have this kit in my Max, I'm using an AVIC D3 and I felt I could live without the kit. I couldn't answer your question but hope someone else can

yaknow how ya fix that gap? Velcro. Fuzzy Fuzzy velcro. Just take small slices of the hooked piece of velcro and place them on the back of the trim and than line a piece of the fuzzy velcro on the bottom. Fixed.

looks like this.

Screw hole positioning is almost irrelevant. From what vie seen the holes will line up for most all Double Din receivers.

ColombianMax, you experience counts so thanks for the info.

FallenOne, good idea with the velcro. the pictured resolution is to low...can't see the velcro. from this picture, it looks like this 2din is a perfect fit.

Uh, you do know thats a thumbnail for a 1280 x 1024 picture right? click on it and you can definitely see it. and if you still cant see it click it again and it will blow it up ever more so.
