ok, i changed the crank sensor the one next to the transmission and i thought it did the job cause im getting good gas mileage and is running good for the last 1200 miles. well the CEL came back on code 1335.

could it be my other crank sensor one under oil filter? i wouldn't think so cause it looks new but i know its older than 2 years.

do you guys think it may be my spark plugs? i rarely feel super slight miss fires at a red light. i have ngk iridium plugs with 15xxx miles on them.

thanks guys.

Where did you get the crank sensor from? JY, aftermarket, or OEM? Test the voltage of the sensor and if it passes, start checking the harness.

EDIT: P1335 is the CKPS REF sensor which is the one located by the crank pulley.

I have this code. It has me going crazy. i have 2 of these sensors, both test fine. i checked the harness the harness is good, i even measured the ohms at the ecu and its good. passes within spec of the haynes manual. i noticed erratic spark behavior from cyl #2. i also replaced ecu and same code appears. the sensor is grounded and the wires going to ecu are good since i pulled the ohms from the ecu as well as directly at the sensor. the signal plate does not look damaged what so ever. this has me so confused. i am about to drop it off at either dealer or junk yard. someone help me save this car! what else can it possibly be? i'm going crazy!!!

it all started when the engine would take longer and longer cranking to start. now it doesn't start at all. has spark/fuel/air/compression. only 1335 code appears on ecu scan.

the senors are magnetic. If they are really bad and have lost magnetic properities you will have to replace them.

Also add a ground wire from the negative battery terminal to a bolt on the tranny. Sometimes the car loses its grounding throught the tranny and makes it hard for the crank sensor to read properly.

When I had this long cranking problem, replacing the other crank position sensor (at the junction between engine and transmission) solved it. Never got a code.
