Confused about my o2 sensor placement
Confused about my o2 sensor placement
I recently bought full exhaust from warspeed. I checked the identification plate and I have a "U" as the 12th letter, according to the org that means I have a fed model. I previously had a '97 and my rear o2 sensor was located on the B-pipe after the catalyst. The aftermarket B-pipe has the same placement. Problem is, the rear o2 on the current exhaust is located on the cat where it tapers off, right before the flange. Now I found one diagram of '00-'01 exhaust cal and fed spec here. That is where the rear o2 is placed on those fed models according to the diagram. Is it possible that I have a cat from an early 5th gen car?
that would be a 95/96 model where they have the O2 sensor right behind the cat
if the O2 will reach the bung it will work. Your rear O2 sensor only measure catalytic (main) flow and function. as long as its after the cat it should be fine

I just now realized I'm an idiot. The o2 IS after the flange on the cat, there is just another flange right after the o2 that I thought was the rear flange of the cat. I don't remember it like that on my '97... oh well I'm still installing this exhaust in the next couple of days.
