If that car gave it's life for it's occupants, I would be proud to say that was mine.

Stuff happens. Yeah fortunately other than being sore from where the seatbelt was and where the airbag hit my ugly face i'm unharmed. Testament to modern safety features i suppose.

That is really some serious stuff happening. But thanks to your guardian angel, you made it safely. For sometimes even the most modern and sophisticated safety features do not protect some other people. Your angel was with you at the wheel.

By any chance, got any pic of your wrecked car to post? Just wondering.

Yeah not the best pic to see everything. I was standing on a rock in front of the big white cinder block wall they had around the tow place. Basically if it's behind the wheel it's broke.

My wife and I came close to joining this parade today. While sitting at an intersection waiting to pull out onto a major four-lane road, two Harleys came roaring down that four-lane and tried to turn onto the street where we were sitting, but were going way too fast. The first one saw he was about to hit us and practrically laid his bike down and missed us by only a foot or two, and barely stayed out of the ditch behind the right rear side of our car.

The second Harley came at us, and from our driver's seat, I could look right into his terrified eyes as his tires were alternate sliding and gripping, and one of his tires hit our left rear tire at the bottom (his cycle was practically laying on the pavement when he hit us), and he flipped and wound up off in the ditch about fifty feet behind the left rear side of our car.

We jumped out and ran back to find the first rider fine, and the second rider lying on the grass, but not hurt (except for his leather pants and his pride). By this time, cars were stopping from all directions, and we had the road blocked. After a quick check, during which we found nothing but a tire-to-tire scrub on our left rear tire, we all agreed to leave things as they were, and went on our way.

Thankfully, at my old age, I have laid in a generous stock of undershorts. The pair I wore today may be beyond washing.

Wow!!! A missed one! Thank God you and wife are ok. I hope the bikers did not get hurt internally that they might have to go to the hospital later on.

Saw that when I was doing some research on a 6-speed swap before. That really sucks for whoever it was.

I wonder if the wheels are for sale...

I feel sure the first cyclist will be fine. I was already looking at the second cyclist, but my wife was looking in her side mirror at the first cyclist, and she said he stayed on his cycle as it fishtailed into the ditch.

I don't like the way the second cyclist bounced on the pavement, but he said he was OK. After checking with them and leaving, my wife and I could not help but look back after we got out onto the four-lane, and noticed the second fellow was still sitting on the ground and the first fellow was bending over him. They were not even looking at his Harley, which was almost upside down in the ditch. We hope he is OK.

Full size motorcycles can be heavier than most folks realize. We have had two motorcyclicts killed in collisions with cars in the Atlanta area recently, and in both cases, the car with which they collided was totaled and the car driver injured.
