Brake & Battery light

Brake & Battery light

So i was just drive down the road and i hit a branch and as i hit it i heard a thud come from the bottom of the car and it sounded like somthing fell off. As soon as that happen my brake light came on and so did the battery light it was kinda dark but i look to see if anything was hanging and it wasnt. Does anyone know what this means???

your alternator is not charging the system.
probably a belt came loose or you busted your alternator.
gotta have a look see.

yea i bet it got under the belt and snapped it. open your hood you r prolly missing the belt.

same thing. they flash together if there is no charging from alternator. It was engineered that way.

Something's up with the alternator. Happened to me and mine was shot.

If the belt was broken, your car would not be running at all as it is the belt that runs to the crank pulley. (or you haven't totally drained your battery yet)

Inspect the belts and alternator...Autozone does free voltage checks on your alternator to let you know how it is performing too.

hmm..my wife just called saying the same lights came on, so I checked when she got home. Belt is new, and on, connections are good, I start the car, and bring up the revs a bit, and the light goes out @ 2500+ rpm. I will assume the alt is out, or on its way out. will have to wait till morning i guess to run to advance and have it tested, unless you guys think thats the issue?

ugh..after I did the search and found this thread as it was newest, i read through half a page of other threads..lmao, including the one where rpms made the light go away...sigh...time to search again for tips on changing it..lol
