Navi Slow to Calculate Route

I have a 2010 Maxima with the latest navi update (car was already updated when purchased) and it takes about 15-20 seconds to calculate a route even if the destination is 4 miles away.

Anyone else have a problem with it being slow?

it also depends on the weather, a thick coud cover will slow the capture rate

I have not had any problems with mine. I had to take a detour due to an accident and it calculated the route in under 20 seconds. I do not expect instant results when it comes to navigation systems. As long as I get what I want out of it in under 30 seconds, I'm good to go.

Being under trees or in a tunnel or under clouds or in a parking deck or anywhere there is not an open view to to satellites can slow or block results.

I dont think they're meant to be instant.

I'm speaking from experience on my previous cars.

My Lexus took around 10-15 seconds and so does the Max.

What was previously said is also true, if you're being blocked by say trees or buildings it can take a little longer to receive the feed.

Especially if you are driving around the city of BOSTON!

I haven't had problems with mine in Northern New Jersey. I would agree with the 10-15 delay. Also depends on where you are located in relation to the satellites.
