I ran yesterday 60'-1.8s; 330'-6.0(54.4 mph); 1/8 mile 9.1s(76.4 mph) and 1000'
-11.9(87 mph) but I missed the 1/4 mile. What is realistic estimation of 1/4 mile. I reckon 14.0-14.2. Any comments. These are my best results so far.
I have 98' Max VQ30DE, washable panel filter, Y-pipe, B-pipe 2,5 inch. The above times were run by OEM muffler. Also I have H&R springs 40mm lowering and KONI shocks , with 16' Rota Slipsteram lightweight wheels 11lbs and Hankook RS2 205/55/16 tires. I am impressed with the times.

The temperature was only +6 C.It was nicely chilly.
Any comments.

 

Should be 14.2 in the 1/4 according to several online conversion tables

I ran a 9.2 in the 1/8 and it turned out to be 14.0 in the 1/4

Yeah chilly weather is great for this. How did you log the velocity?

I timed mine using my VSS and data interpolation converted from the FSM and came up w/ a 0-60 in 6.3sec.

That's a phenomenal 60' for the mods you've got. That car has some major potential. Essentially a y-piped 4th gen.

A healthy VQ30 (depending on IM of course) typically adds roughly between 18-22 MPH in the final 1/8, so that would equate to about a 94 - 98 MPH trap, which correlates to about a very high 13 (w/slicks) or low 14 with these cars.

 

There is such a program called GTx, that measures your car acceleration from satellites. Check www.tempes.com
I installed it to my cell-phone and it just needs to be active with approx 8-9 sat. and here you go.it works outside of cente or city. Because houses do block the satellites effectiveness.

I also plan to replace my OEM headers to cattman.
I am more than ancious to get to know what will happen then.
I hope low 13 is possible. Again everything depends from weather.
The car is euro version Nissan Maxima QX in stock it has 193 hp and 189 ft-lbs
in 4000 rpm.

Keep in mind here guys this is not a 1/4 mile track - he's using some GPS program (apparently on his cell phone) to estimate all this stuff. Need to get to a real track and test it out. estimations do not always equate to real world performance.

1.8 60' on street tires is straight up not possible for his setup (nor anyone elses' maxima), and the rest of the times seem pretty optimistic as well.

It is not virtually measured, it is measured in actually driving with sticky surface.
I can admit it was not measured in actual race track, but it was measured in actual situation
. And it was measured in rather chilly weather. What concerns about speed then it is actual also. I have measure the speed also in normal speed with this program, that uses GPS receiver and measures it with satellites and it is pretty accurate. When I drove the speed
62,5 mph it showed for actual speed 57.5 mph. So it is actual and I have no reason to doubt about it. I must remind that Maximas performance changes drastically in chilly or cold weather. this is proven fact.

 

it is not an actual 1/4 mile drag racing run. end of story.

 

I went 9.0 @ 80 and went 14.0 @ 99.8...so I would bet 14.2-14.3 @ 97ish.

But I am still very much pleasantly surprised that chilly or even cold weather
changes dramatically the VQ30DE engine performance. The car almoust flies.
Of course weather was also dry but only +3 to +5 C and almoust 100% humidity.
It is is something 37 degree of F.
I understand and have experienced before that chilly weather increases performance but that was more I expected. This VQ30 DE engine is one of a kind. I should get soon ready my Cattman headers and Y pipe and then I am sure my car flies really. I am planing to coat them with ceramic also. (The Black Satin coating, that can withstand until 1100 degrees of F heat.)
So I will be ready for next spring.
