My car threw the KS last week and I've been looking around for a replacement. In my searches it looks like most/all people get the cheap $25 sensors off Ebay and call it a day. For something as important as a KS, I wouldn't have a problem paying a little more for better quality, but it's tough to find long-term reviews for this sort of thing.

My three choices are as follows:

1. Get one from a dealership for $145. Not sure of the brand.
2. Get a Delphi for $108.
3. Get a cheap MTC for $23.

I'm leaning towards the Delphi because it's a reliable brand and I've never heard of MTC. I know people say "you can replace the MTC once a year for four years for the price of the Delphi", but if the MTC isn't doing a 100% perfect job the whole time, I would rather just pay more up front for a better product. I guess my question is is whether the KS is the sort of product where quality matters (like how a good O2 sensor/starter actually makes a difference).

 

OEM's can be had on ebay for $45-$57 shipped. dont even waste time with cheap brand on this item.

yea , i would try to stay away from cheap stuff , unless KN is really easy to change ( usually not the case ) u dont want to do the same job twice , if cheap sensor goes bunk . my 0.02

 

IDK - Got mine from a local auto parts store for like 28 bucks 4 years ago.
Works perfectly fine.

 

I got a $25 ebay one. Took me about a half hour to change on my 95, just reached under the plenum area. I was surprised how easy it was to change. Car ran better afterwards, seemed less choked.
