Hitachi Reman Alternator from Parts Geek ... any good?

My alternator is going bad, so I decided to buy one before its too late. I bought the reman hitachi from parts geek knowing that the OEM is hitachi.

Should I be worried that it's a reman one? I was thinking about getting the denso one, but oh well ... lol

I talked to DaveB and the Nissan OEM one that he sells is a Hitachi reman. He stated that the only item reused is the housing, everything else is brand-new.

He wasn't aware that hitachi remans could be purchased somewhere else. I'm guessing that the one i bought from Parts Geek is the same thing DaveB sells.

Most likely all the alternators sold for our cars these days are remanufactured. Mine is also a reman Hitachi from Autozone. I've been using it for 7 months.

I'm also pretty sure most, if not all, alternators & starters are reman units.

The unit sold by Nissan is reman by Hitachi, which happens to be the original OEM supplier. The part at Part Geek unit is also identified as being remanufactured by Hitachi.

Hitachi doesn't reman every alternator for our Maximas. If I recall correctly, there are only a few companies that reman electrical components.

I hope I'm making some sense ...

It all depends on the weight and how fast I want it. It takes about 3 days FedEx ground from TX to VA.

DaveB can also overnight and 2-day parts for anyone. I'm always buying parts from him ... awesome guy and really good prices.

I meant the price of the alternator from Dave B and approximate shipping so that I can compare. Most ebay and Amazon sellers charge about $120 shipped.

DaveB's Nissan OEM alternator is $224 (plus $75 core charge). I don't remember the shipping though, but I'm pretty sure it's about 15 lbs.

Don't quote me on the prices ... I have really bad memory.
