has anyone else blown this fuse before? its the biggest fuse on the block next to the battery under the hood. its held in by two bolts. where did you find your replacement?

 

That is a fusible link, should be available at most auto parts stores.

 

i tried the advance by me and they only had 120a. guess ill keep tryin.

why did it take you 30 min? it took me like 30 seconds.

 

what are you talking about? my fuse box unclips and then its two bolts holding the FL in place on either side. 30 seconds.

 

i reckon. my fuse box comes apart with like 6 little clips.

 

120A is fine, they put them to maximas in california.

 

Mine blew about 2 months ago. I couldnt find another 140 amp at any auto store so I pulled 1 off a maxima in a junkyard and pocketed it . Most junkyards wont charge you for fuses anyway

You get no power. I found out when I put the key in and no lights came on the dash

 

mine has a clear top. you could clearly see it was blown just like any other fuse. also i had no power to almost everything.

 

although one of the few things that had power was the dash.

 

why don't you guys buy it from a dealership if you can't find it anywhere else and are concerned about 120A vs 140A. It was like $11 when I bought mine a few years ago....

 

dealer is always last resort for me. $11 sounds straight though.

 

i just blew that one on my car the other day... it was a 120 though. and i only paid like 5 somethin for it... autozone... took like 20 minutes to figure out that was my problem, take it off, go get it, and throw it back in... super easy job... those clips on the cover can be a pain though...

 

easier said than done the dealer is saying they dont carry it. according to them i have to buy the entire fuse block. im startin to think yall just talk out of your *** all the time.

 

you dont need to buy from a dealer. its a regularly stocked item at autozone... i just did this about a week ago... i was even on the phone with JNCoRacer when i did it...

 

i feel like im in the twilight zone. i cant find a 140a fuse anywhere yall are saying i can i get it at. im just gonna go with the 120.

 

jesus CHRIST. after a 2 day long wild goose chase i finally talked to a parts manager who knew what he was doing and he ordered me the fuse from a dealer in north jersey. if you live in new jersey DO NOT blow this fuse.

 

I know you're frustrated because you're car is down, but you are being a little ungrateful to people who can help you. I've never had to replace mine and I'm at school so I'm not sure if the following is the correct type, but it is a representation of what you can find in 5 short minutes of internet searching.

do you know what speaking tongue in cheek is? im expressing my aggravation for every suggestion coming up false in my situation. ive never had so many problems finding a ****in FL.

 

nelledge, thats not the right fuse anyways... and yeah, i guess if you were dead set on the 140a you may not have been that lucky but my autozone had both the 120's and 140's for around $5... i saw the 140 first but the bad one i pulled out so that i could reference the terminals was just a 120 so thats what i went with... sorry your having such a hard time...

 

i found it its all good. people like giving me the runaround apparently.

 

i had the same problem no one has the 140 fuse but i went to the junk yard and found a 120 and installed wrking good so far and i also noticed that the 96 my girl has is a 140 but my 99 says 120 so i really dnt noe the diffrence maybe cause she has heated seats and both front seats are power witch my 99 ant so idk but i think the 120 would do justice for now

 

Tip: Any time you're at a junk yard, pocket a few of these and put them in your glove box. Never know when you're gonna need them.

I know that this forum is for Nissan maxima, but I cannot find anything on the Altima forum, (my daughter has an Altima, I have an maxima) I just wanted to know how can I remove a broken 100 amp fuse from the fuse box near the battery, do I have to take it apart if so it clips on the fuse box any help would be greatly appreciated, also to answer the above question I actually went to Nissan and had them order a fuse for my daughter car since I couldn't find any at the auto stores and it was about 4 to 5 bucks for the fuse so if you cant find any in the auto store just go to Nissan and see if they have any in stock and if they don't just have them order it.
