Anyone have an extended warranty from Warranty Direct?

This company seems to have the best reputation in a field full of scammers. How has your experience with this company been? Have they fixed the notorious timing chain tensioner thing for you? Or did they deny your claim with the excuse it is under a Technical Service Bulletin?

NEVER EVER purchase an extended warranty before you read THE FINE PRINT and UNDERSTAND the terms and "conditions" of the contract.

Furthermore, if you CANNOT prove that the vehicles maintenance has been done according to the Mfg. schedule and have reciepts to prove it, your claim will be denied.

Aftermarket parts on your car - YOUR DONE.

We use to have people come into our shop with those warranty's all the time. We've never EVER had one approved and we no longer even do any work on vehicles if the customer claims to have coverage under an extended warranty.

Example - Water pump leaks. Claim denied by the adjuster if you cannot provide reciepts of dealer approved coolant change according to Nissan's cooling system maintenance schedule.

And yes, that's completely spelled out in the warranty co's contract.

Buyer beware on this one.

Thanks. I did read the fine print. Yes, you must prove maintenance and have receipts for fluids, filters, etc., to back it up. Also, they exclude TSBs, so the timing chain tensioner is out.

i was looking into extending past my 7yr/70k nissan extended warranty...

well nissan wanted $3000 up front for only 3 years... yeah that was a no.
others you will hear automatically deny any claim right away and place the burden on you to prove they should pay up. who wants to deal with that?

Just maintain the car and build a savings. Start with the $2-3k they want up front. that will likely cover any issues.

I got a 5yr, 100K mile policy with Warranty Direct when I purchased my max with 29K miles in 2006.

I finally had to use it in February of this year to replace the power steering pump and an engine gasket. There were no issues and they didn't ask for any maintenance records.

I think it's all in the repair shop that you take it to and if they have any experience working with warranty companies.

All in all for the amount of time I had the coverage I only used it once but the work done was more than what I paid for the warranty so it wasn't so bad.
