sonar headlights jm auto racing

has anyone installed the sonar projector headlights on their car? i am curious to see how wide the beam is. are they wider than the stock 00-01 headlights? pics if you got any
im not to crazy about the halos but a well made set of projectors would be nice so i can see a little better through my 5% tint w/o running my fogs all the time.
are their any fitment issues or aiming problems? i know the ebay ones did not aim well at all.

^^A retrofit with quality projectors will give you considerably more beam intensity, distance, and width.

Alot more than your stock headlights and more than any crappy projector headlights.

I dont know which one's the sonar projectors are but as far as i know there is only one kind. Here's a write-up i did on the retrofit to good projector lenses.

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...-retrofit.html

I have 5% tint all around too except for windshield of course i dont have any problem seeing with these but never did before the retrofit. Time to start eating more carrots i guess haha

Oh, I'm just giving you hell.

I've just never been a fan of anything over 20%. I think it makes the interior of the car too dark and drab.

But you've already admitted that it IS broken! That's the point of the thread, to try and fix a problem with a too dark tint, by adding more light.

I don't think you'll fix it with more headlight power, as that generally doesn't help with seeing out the side.

Do you have a link to the lamps you're referring to?

i don't feel like getting involved in the retrofit. baking plastic in my oven and drilling and stuff. i would prefer to use my time more wisely. how much would you charge to make another one?

I'd love to do a retrofit in my 5.5 gen headlights.

Unfortunately, the cost of a new pair of headlights if I screw up greatly outweighs the benefits.

So for now, they stay as they are.

exactly why i dont want to retrofit when they have some out that could b a better option than the ebay ones... unless those are the ebay ones in disguise.

I just think the aftermarket ones available are unsightly. They don't really flow with the bodylines of the car. And the fact that the halos are so ridiculously oversized...Hence why I haven't bought any.

Also, from my experience, aftermarket headlights have issues with aiming and sealing properly. As in they tend to fog up very easily.

I also don't see how anyone can expect an H1 bulb to properly light the road up at night. H1 is the same bulb that is in our foglights. Minus the extended wire that makes it an H3.

These look just as bad as the eBay ones. You just can't get good aftermarket headlights and good projectors together as one unit for "cheap".

I agree these are pretty much the run of the mill "ebay" projector. Good news is an E55 projector swaps right in and gives you a nice sharp cutoff. And bixenon capabilities which means if you wire it all in right you can have two sets of lights firing for your hight beams.
