Welp, I brought the benz in to get that tire fixed. The AMG 17 inch monoblocks. Took it to Auburndale Tires.. Recommended by Albert. Its on Northern Blvd and 193rd street. They patched my tire for 20 dollars. Kinda pricy. But they took good car of the rim. And they took their time with the tire. They let the glue set and stuff like that. Good stuff. Pricey though. I wanted the tire to be balanced. That was another 8 dollars. So it would have been 28 dollars to repair the tire. Nah. He gave me another option. he would just mark the tire and remount it in the exact same spot. Good suggestion. Went with it. I was going to get an alignment too. 4 wheel. The guy took the car for a test drive. Came back the car on the lift. Then put all the sensors on. He then called me over and showed me a broken bushing on the control arm. He explained that thats why the steering is a bit sloppy. He said he won't do the alignment. He had a chance to make 89 dollars off me but didn't. Gotta respect that. He had to take all the sensors off take it off the lift etc.. Very honest. So in short. Auburndale Tires looks like a good place for our tire repair needs in NY. Probably do a good alignment job there too. When I was there. There was a LS400, a Porsche Carrera, and this mint condition 70s caddie.. The Porsche was wearing Kumhos. Hehe. Very professional place. Dudes are pretty funny too when they realize you aren't a car moron. =)

Is hard to pick out. He's the little old guy in the mechanics jumpsuit that trapses around...giving orders quietly and halping with the moving of the cars. He owns that Caddy and several other old GM cars. I've always liked them because of their professional demeanor and the fact that they are a family owned business.

Yeah, I talked with that guy. The guy with the glasses right? So thats his caddie huh? Even the hubcaps on that thing were super shiny. It was up on the lift when I was there. Seems like a pretty good place. After I get the bushing/arm fixed on the benz I'll definately take it back there to get the alignment. Good recommendation Albert. Honest places are so hard to find.

How much do they charge for wheel alignment? Do they have fast service?

40 some odd dollars for front wheel. 89 for 4 wheel. They only have one alignment rack. So if its not occupied I guess they would work on it right away. But they didn't do the car I brought in cuz they said there was a broken bushing and it wasn't safe.

Which way were ya comming from? If you're comming off the clearview.. Its on your left and you have to turn around to get to it. Its not a huge sign. Just keep looking left.

Yeah, the place is on the corner of 193rd and Northern.

You actually might not see the sign till you pass.. Thats how I saw it.. The sign that was facing east. Cuz I got off the clearview. But they have to have a sign somewhere else. Just keep your eyes peeled.

Woodear >>If you're headed from 184th >>

You'll be going east on Northern...it'll be on your right...one block before Oasis Cafe and St. Nick's Orthodox church. It's inset with a small parking lot out front and shares the lot with a hair salon and Pearle Vision. Across the street is the Genovese pharmacy.
