Bosch Platinum +2/+4? Anyone?

Hey all,

Now that I've picked up my 6MT, I'm planning on doing a comp. tuneup on the whole vehicle, including swapping out spark plugs.

I know everyone on here swears by the NGK Iridiums. I've tried them out, in my 4AT, and I'm definitely happy with them.

However, I've seen a bunch of reviews on the Bosch Platinum +2 and +4 series plugs recently, and they sound like decent plugs. Anyone tried them out in our cars and have any input on how they ran?

Thanks guys.

Don't bother with those, stick with the NGK Iridiums.

Possibly. Wonder if anyone has tried the Densos and liked them more than the NGKs.

How about being a guinea pig and trying out the E3 plugs and reporting back your findings? LOL...

In all seriousness, just stick with what's proven. Don't believe all the hype.

I'd rather not get the E3's...never even heard of them.

The only reason I asked is because Bosch has a lot of products that have been proven to be far superior to other brands.

No E3s, they're garbage.

Bosch plugs work well on other cars, not ours.

Screw it. Getting Autozone plugs and calling it a day.

J/k. I'd never do that to my poor car.

I wouldnt put them in my car. When I used to sell auto parts, people would come back often with those plugs claiming their car ran like **** with them. Stick with OEM spec NGKs or denso. .

NGK or Denso...IMO they are the same.

Bosch makes nice things but electronics is not their strong point.

I did the Bosch +4's long ago and didn't like my performance. I mainly run NGK coppers now.

Just do the NGK Coppers. I used to run the Bosh +2/+4s in my bronco and never saw any gains at all. I can't imagine then working any better in our engines. Plus In my experience they tend to wear out prematurely.

Now a days I run standard copper plugs and really they last about the same, my mileage remains the same and the plugs end up with less carbon on them when I replace them.

When I replaced the plugs in my max I just did the coppers. 15K miles later they still are doing their job.

I went with NGK V-powers. I guess the closest thing to OEM NGKs you can get.

Seem to work just fine...and properly gapped, the car sounds a lot happier when it starts up and idles.

I agree....I have had the Denso Iridiums for about 35K now....they are great plugs.....I cannot attest to the NGK Iridiums....but the Denso's IMO are way better than the stock platinums.

There were issues with VQ's buring these plugs up though. I never had the issue but some have.

I went with the NGKs.

The V-powers work just fine. Except now I'm thinking my stumbling idle might be a lazy coilpack/Nissan's failcats. It's not as erratic as it used to be, though. It comes and goes.

I just wasn't in the position to afford another set of Iridiums.

NGK Lasers are the what comes in the motor oem...Bosch would be a down grade. I tried them in a 2000 max years ago and they dont make the cut. I also wouldn't bother with the coppers because its not as easy to change all the spark plugs like honda's. Your going to have to take the intake manifold off to get to the rear plugs. And coppers would need changing way before the lasers would.
