5 speed swap ECU Question?

I recently completed my 5 speed swap, but car tends to have high idle only when I come to a stop. I have a 98 maxima with a 97 5 speed manual transmission running on a 98 auto ECU, I have a 95 manual ECU in storage. Should I use the 95 manual ECU or should I get a 97 or 98 manual ECU? Also, will the car run better or the same with a 95 manual ECU compared to a 97-98?

BTW, I think you will get a few check engine lights with the 95 ECU. But I would run a manual ECU if I were you. Less problems.

Ok, thx. Do you need a 95 manual 5 speed ECU? I will trade you if you have a 97-98 5 speed manual ecu.

No he wont. He will actually have less check engine lights than with a newer ECU.

If the ECU is working fine, the car will drive fine.

Ok, I will let you know. I'm going to the junk yard today. Last time I checked I found a 97 maxima 5 speed. Hopefully, the ECU is still their and no one took it.

Alright, I got the 5 speed manual ecu from a 97 maxima at the junkyard. My only question is, the ECU that I pulled out on this vehicle had J2 @ the top? The one that I pulled from the 95 5 speed had MT @ the top? Does every ECU have different letters and numbers @ the top? In other words, how can you tell if it's truly a 5 speed ECU?

Look at the OEM numbers on it and find the link for the ECU ID, I think it is a sticky. It doesn't have all the numbers on it, but you might be able to find it on there.
