What is so special about a 95 5 speed Maxima ECU?!

Can anyone tell me what is so special about a 95 5 speed ECU? Why do they cost more than a 97, 98, 99 5 speed ECU? What makes them so special? Anyone? Thx.

I don't know the ins and outs, but the 95 did not have all the evap crap that the later models had.

Ok, so will a 95 5 Speed ECU perform better than a 97 5 speed ECU?

that's not what I am saying. If you use the 95 ecu there is not a much crap it is controlling/monitering so if you wanted to do away with your evap stuff on a later model you could do that and then use the 95 ecu, and not throw a cel for the stuff you removed. The reason I swaped to the 95 ecu is so that there was less of a chance of throwing a check engine light...that's all. Other people may have other reasons, but that is my reason.

from my knowledge it doesn't perform better. It just helps to avoid some cel codes from when you get heavy into modding

EDIT:Ahh cardana beat me to it but that would be the same reason I would use it

95 FED spec does not have as many electrical devices. For example there is no MAP sensor or evap sensor. The Evap is all up front and vacuum opperated unlike all other 4th gens. 95 CALI spec is just like the 96 which for arguments sake are all CALI spec. Some sensors are different for 97's but they are pretty much the same setup as 96. 98s were a bit different but still very close to 96/97. 99 FED spec should be like a 98. 99 cali spec has the extra gay y pipe with more O2 sensors, swirl valves, electric EGR and what not. A bunch more crap is electric on the 99 Cali.
