10 years, one maxima

I know there's really no point to this thread, but I just had to share with someone that tomorrow will mark 10 years from the day I drove my 4th gen out of the dealership parking lot. I paid $18k for it. Best money ever spent. Thanks for the good times orgers! Many more to come!

Saw this car in person at Maxus and you can't even tell it's 10yrs old. Keep up the clean work and let's hope it lasts another 10yrs.

Very much possible. My '91 SE just turned 20 and is still going strong even after having two daughters beat it up as their first cars. Although I did have to spend the last two weekends replacing injectors and motor mounts.

$18K for a used Max, 10 years ago.

Now the big question, Ed... how much have you spent on it since?

Still have mine 98 GLE @ 205k miles. Bought brand new. Still runs but is thinking about either selling it or spend money to fix all problens and blemishs... Hard decisions...

Got some chipped paints from broken snow chain. Engine starts a bit rough (high pitched sound after the initial crank) and either alighnment problems or bent axle...

Someone help me out...

I bought my 97SE brand new with 7/10 of a mile on it. They did not have the options I wanted so I ordered it from the factory and waited 3 months for it. Still have it, at 190K ish miles.

It's never been in an accident.

Just thought I would share...

This March will mark 12 years for my 99.

We've since also gone through a BMW 330i, replaced by a Ford Explorer.
The Bmer started to nickle and dime us in repairs. Great car, but to $$$ to keep.

I had mine for 10 yrs until i blew out the reverse one day. I ended up getting a 6.5 because it would cost too much to fix it. I still have it, sits on the side of my house with 207k on it. I guess we will see how long i have this max

Since everyone seems to be posting up the history of their Max's I'll go ahead too. My dad bought the max in 2000 (It's a 98 SE) I Turned 16 in July of 2010 so he handed me the keys and told me its mine . And no I'm not spoiled, that was a gift for my good grades I pay for insurance gas and whatever else. She's got 150XXX on the odometer and still running strong. It's all stock now except for headunit and subs, hope to do some engine work soon.

I was thinking of posting the same thing, I got my max in 01 of the dealer lot as well. It has not really broken down to where it left me stranded, just the regular things like wheel bearings needing to be replaced and such. Knock on wood, the things I have had to change on this car other than preventative maintenance were:
axles
wheel bearings
strut mounts
starter
spark plug valve cover seals
water pump (for no reason lol)

Pretty much all the work done by me sometimes with the help of a friend.

I bought my '98 brand new in May '98 I think I paid $18k for the GXE.

+1 to njmaxseltd on euro cars costing more $$. Went through a 325xi and my a4 that have had more minor issues combined in 4 years of ownership than the max in 13 years.
