PCV
PCV
I know silly basic question but where is the pcv located at and if I were to do a sea foam treatment is this the best port to pour it into? Or does everyone use the brake booster line? Any pros/cons with doing sea foam? Any potential contimanation to the 02 or spark plugs?
as far as teh pcv location..i did some research on it and from what ive read/looked at, its right below the throttle body. i plan on replacing mine this upcoming weekend. as far as seafoam, i'm not sure of what method to use ive read alot about it...but i do know/heard, that once you do it, you must replace your spark plugs afterwards.

Sorry bro but, flame inc...
Searched for "pcv is located" under 4th gen forum. 2 threads showing, both with adequate instructions.
Searched for "pcv picture" under 4th gen forum. First thread had a link to a youtube video 'how-to' on PCV replacement.
Searched for "pcv" under 4th gen forum. First one is your thread (this one), next 3 are irrelevant by title, 5th thread 1st response has a DETAILED picture of its general and specific location and the guy even colored the tube so it was WAY easy to see and follow. To rub it in a bit more there is, in the same picture, directions for cleaning the assembly.
Put the seafoam in the brake booster port (directly into the manifold). Just do not be THAT GUY and forget to reconnect the tube. Easiest if someone helps you so you can poor the seafoam in faster (keeping the engine running; use a funnel; don't hydrolock your engine). This is the most effective way so that as much seafoam as possible can sit in the cylinders.
Pros – it works; many benefits, mostly carbon elimination/reduction.
Cons – the seafoam does not poor itself?
Not really: If your leak-down is real bad, specifically past the rings, you can get enough in the crackcase that it will contaminate the oil. The lubrication coefficient of the oil will thus be reduced; If you drive like an idiot after, you can do damage to friction surfaces / various journals.
Other than that, you may get adverse reading temporarily from O2; no big deal.
If seafoam ruined your engine mine would have died years ago. I use the crap out of it.
Best to do it on the side of a back road so as soon as you drive you can start burning carbon. (Do not blame me if you get a ticket trying to burn out the carbon).
< /endflame > Good luck bro! Hope this helps you and/or others.

The PCV valve is located between the UIM and TB.
As for the SeaFoam, just do it through the brake booster nipple at the top of the UIM. I like to use Deep Creep > SeaFoam because it's a concentrated version of SeaFoam but in spray can form. It can be found at auto part stores.

I replaced mine also today I bought one from Advance Auto Parts a Purolator Item number PVC1024. But when i compared it to my old one the old one was a tad smaller. The nipple part that goes into the manifold was a tad bigger then my old one. I hammered it in and went in fine. Now the rubber gromet that the PVC valve sits on top of came off. Im gonna mess with it when it gets a lil warmer out but has anyone else have a problem like that? Im assuming it was clogged cause my oil catch can was empty and felt no pressure what so ever going thru.

Umm...you do know that was for a 5th gen and not a 4th gen right
. The PCV valve is in the rear valve cover at the right side of the UIM...
