haven't heard it being done before.
more info on the sub is needed...

edit: here is what I see: yeah, it can problably be modded to fit.
concern is making it work. Bose (and most high end factory audio) doesn't comply with "normal" audio equipment standards. usually, the oem speaker is impedance is weird, a 3 or 5 ohm line. amps usually use 1, 2, 4, or 8 (or any multiple like that). there is a potential concern for amp integrity when using an off-standard impedance.
so you can make it work, but would it be worth a little extra trunk space?

edit2:
dangit, we need a strike thru option..
anyway, if using an aftermarket head unit, and using the 5th gen sub/amp combo, then the first edit is pretty much useless.
wire the amp for power, and use an rca out from the radio. should work fine.
still looking, to make sure that's right.

I'm thinking on replacing mine. Now remember its an inbase sub so it needs to be an open setting to work properly. Should be able to be done.

I don't think it would give enough bass to make it worth it. Just go after market and be done with it.

yeah a single 10" or 12" and you still got plenty of space in the trunk...

ok some slight bad news. we dont get 6.5's theyre 8's. p/n P1S48 we just upgrade them. ive personally never done the install here but i see the 8's comin and going like crazy. if you want i can get you the specs and what he recommends for an amp and pricing if youd like. but some good news for you...i KNOW that JL made a 6.5" sub for factory replacement. idr if it was an W0 or W1 but thatll give you alil info to look for at least lol

Just a suggestion from personal experience, adding a sub to the rear deck seems a bit complicated considering other options such as just putting a sub on the trunk. Don't want to do that? Okay, just get two 6x9 subwoofers for the rear. My two Kicker Comp 6x9's sound as good or better than my 8" Kicker in my 5.5 gen. And I've even sealed the 8" to achieve better bass (yes it's still mounted in the stock location).
