First time out with new swap.

Hey guys, ran my car at the track yesterday with new swap. Car is a 97' GLE with VQ35/5-Speed.
VQ35, new rings, bolts/studs, seals etc..
Nismo R-Tune cams, HR valvesprings/retainers, rough head work.
Slight work on Intake Upper, Lower. Pathfinder TB. SPEC Stg.2.
Was running rear Z32 wheels up front at 35psi.
Greddy EU, slightly tuned, 2-step not hooked up yet.
Headers, 2.5" Catback, Intake.
Nice weather here in FL, think track was 68-69 degrees.
Only got 2 runs in. Best run was
R/T-.127
60'-2.273
330-5.968
1/8-8.906
MPH-83.37
1000'-11.422
1/4-13.533
MPH-106.74

I think with car fully tuned and 2-step hooked up, and a better 60' it will pull a low 13. What do you guys think?

Certainly has 12s in it on a better 60 foot. Try unbolting that 2.5" catback from the Y-pipe next time... I bet you see some gains there.

Good mph!

You need some slicks for that thing.

Car is a non LSD, what kind of 60' times should I be pulling? She is running really rich down low, I need to lean her out some. Next time out I will try unbolting the exhaust. Thanks for input!

I say get a 3" cat-back and you'll take some significant time off that ET.

You can get atleast a 1.8 60' on drag radials, you could probably get some 1.7s on full slicks.

A 3" exhaust makes some nice gains.
Unbolting the exhaust will do the trick. Make sure you tune the car with the exhaust unbolted though.

And as good as 2.0s on street tires with practice. Non LSD cars do fine in a straight line, mine is non LSD too.

Yep 3" exhaust, cutout, or just unbolted exhaust.

My tune didn't change much at all between full 2.5" exhaust and exhaust unbolted.

Lots and lots of practice to get 2.0s on street tires. I could never do it on my nexens.
But yeah non lsd cars will do fine.

Interesting that the tune didn't change much.

Thanks for the input guys! I am going to save up for some drag radials or possibly slicks, have to think about it some more. Will have a cutout installed because Im real tight on money, and fine tune some more. Will let you guys know how I make out.
Datdude20- No, shifting at 7.2K, car feels like it doesn't pull as hard if I rev any higher than that.

Nice work! Have you been to the dyno yet? I can't wait to drive my car, it has very similar mods. Also, air down some, start at 20psi and go down from there, 35 is going to be hard to hook on a street tire.

Just get some slicks since you have the luxury of fitting a 15" wheel.

Some 24.5 M&H or MT slicks would fit the bill nicely.
