yes i used it; couldnt read the codes my max was throwing at me last month so i had to borrow a buddies scanner; i was pissed cause i spent the 5$ for the app.
i suspect the bluetooth adapter could be the problem.
however to monitor engine vitals it did it without a problem.

I downloaded it, and it couldnt read the codes my Max was throwing either, but I tried on a friend's Impala, and it read just fine. It cleared my codes fine, but it can only connect immediately after connecting to the car, and only then, and only that one time. And the app guages dont work either So im suspecting it's my bluetooth adapter, its a cheap $30 one I got from ebay that came from China. Im going to get the PLX adapter.

Old ECU FTMFL!

deezo!

Is this for the Durango or the Max?

Anyhow, someone posted this a few days ago.:
http://forums.maxima.org/7979353-post111.html

That was on an A34, so I'm not sure if you would on your car if it is indeed the Maxima.

Cool stuff, I 'd it and didn't find poop for my CrackBerry. Beats having to bring the laptop in the car for rides.

Apparently it works for the A34.

Agreed. When I hooked up my obd to my laptop, it was awfully slow sampling rate. Not even 1Hz.

It works on any car with an OBDII port. All you need is a bluetooth dongle.

SUP SUP!!!!

This is for both the Durango and the Max.

When I'm travelling with the Durango, I keep the Superchip programmer in the center console to do engine and transmission monitoring. It has to be plugged in of course and I run the cable over my steering column. I want to get away from that with this device.

For the Max, I've been using Digimoto on an old T30 laptop that stays in the garage. It was a PITA monitor with a big **** laptop sitting on the passenger seat plug, it would freeze the whole program when you tried to run fuel pressure monitor. I pretty much use it to clear codes now a days.

I like that it's cheap and the guages are more fluid than in Digimoto. It measures boost pressure for the SC and Turbo peeps too. Pretty nice app.

I got the torque app and an ELM327 OBD2 Bluetooth adapter a couple of weeks ago. I have connected it to three different vehicles. First was the 2007 Maxima. Took some random screen shots on my evo. Also connected it to a Ford E250. And a older Toyota to get the code for the SES and clear it after the repair was made.

Depends upon the ECU as to what sensor's/data you can monitor. For example on the Maxima i could not read the fuel level percentage. But I could on the E250.

For the HP estimate to be in the ballpark the vehicles weight has to be entered in kilograms instead of pounds or else it will show and insanely high HP estimate. Its not dynometer so it is what it is.

Enable the HUD mode and place the phone on the dash and it will reflect on the windshield. Only when its dark enough though.

It doesn't seem to work on my A32 with the Cresent ODB2 adapter. It connects thru bluetooth but shows no data from the ECU. I guess this will be used primarily on the Durango then.

I just got my first 'droid phone and playing with it. No phone service yet, so just wifi. I just found out you have 15 minutes after purchasing from App Market to get a refund. I dunno how much you can test Torque in 15minutes, seems unfair. Wish they would go back to 24hr refund window.

How's Torque now Deezo? I saw your post on youtube asking others for feedback. Any luck?

Now I don't have a vehicle to test it on since my Durango is totalled. Wife got run off the road by a trucker but she's fine. I'm planning on getting into another Durango shortly so I'll give it a test within the next couple of weeks and post back. I'm pretty sure this app likes programmable ECUs so I was looking forward to getting the truck back but the damage was too extensive. I have a Cortex for the Durango as well.

I have confirmed Torque and the ELM327 adapter (The el cheapo on e on ebay) works with 2002 and up ECUs. I haven't use it on 2000 & 2001 Maxes. on 96-99 Maxes It either makes a connection then drops it once you start getting data or doesn't get a connection at all. If you have one of these cars I suggest picking up an Innova scan tool.

Digimoto will still do the job for me. I'll just have to pull into my garage to use it because carrying a laptop in the car plain sucks.

Thats the adapter I have an it can only connect as soon as I open the app, and thats it. It wasnt able to read any of my codes when I had them, but it was able to erase them. Im going to try the PLX adapter. The dev does warn that the cheap adapters may or may not work. Some have had success with them, and some havent

I just replaced the Durango with an 07 Durango Limited so I'm going to see if the adapter works on that. Not that it will help us Max owners but it will verify weather the BT adapter is any good.

I think this just proves that the A32 ECU is 'slow', always thought/known to be, and now it's really showing its age.

It will, plus you will be surprised on how quick it relays data. I am with my wife's 06 Tacoma. In 05 most manufacturers went to the CAN bus which means faster transfer rates.

A33 isn't that fast either but at least it's fast enough for this gizmo to work.

So, I tested the cheapo BT connector in the Durango it it works great and it's fast. Started flipping thru the pages on the phone and it crashed on me but at least I know it works. I think it will work on the 4th gen if there is a wired interface connected because I can use Digimoto all day long on the car without an issue (connected to Serial port on laptop).

So you try the PLX adapter?

Im considering the PLX KIWI Bluetooth! Seems it may only work on android phones. I was hoping it would work on pc/laptop with bluetooth adapter!!

(if i ever ditch my EVO 4g for another platform im stuck with a useless plx adapter too??)

or pay another 100$ for the PLX Logger 3.0 for PC! Which is free for usb and serial use but over bluetooth its cost 100$ WTF!

I gotta find a list of cars this ebay adapter works on so i could sell it to someone who can use it!

According to the Developer of the Torque app 4th gens and possibly some 5th gens are not fully ODB-II complaint!!?????

SNS3.0VJG1EK = VQ30 ??????????

I started a dialog if anyone is interested!

http://torque-bhp.com/forums/?wpforu...topic&t=558.00

http://www.obdii.com/connector.html

Search for
SNS3.0VJG1EK

There is a NO next to it in the fully compliant section!!

A33 is "quick" (comparable to the 99.5, but 99.5 is still slower) but the A33B is quite fast, even by today's standards. 32 bit, etc.

This is apparent since the Consult II based UpRev Software runs very nicely on the A33B without any glitches.

I have a 2003 Maxima, and the torque app doesn't work for reading codes (I have a P1456 code on my car). The raw data window works fine, although there is a slight delay in displaying info such as intake flow, rpm, etc., which I suspect is due to the cheap ebay bluetooth adapter that I purchased.

Well I just updated my torque app, and in the changelog it said it contained fixes for some Nissan and Subaru models. So i tried it again on my 4th gen, and it actually stays connected, whereas before it would connect as soon as I turned it on, then disconnect. I havent tried to read or erase any codes b/c my Max doesn't have any, so can someone try it out and see if it is working for them now?

I will try it again on the Max when I get a chance.

I did try it on my G8 GT and it works like a charm. Time to get an in-car kit for my HTC Evo.

I have a 2001 maxima and I can get connected to the ECU and have a CEL but torque says there are no trouble codes, but did reset the CEL. Has anyone been able to pull codes with torque on a 5th Gen maxima?

Sorry for the two month bump but I'm in the market for a bluetooth OBD-II module and software that I can use to track down this power loss problem. Almost feels like a vacuum leak.

On Amazon:
PLX Devices Kiwi Bluetooth by PLX Devices for $100
Bluetooth ELM 327 Scanner OBDII PC Car Diagnostic by Elandpower for $30.

I've got an Android phone and most likely will use the Torque app, however I've read there might be problems using the app with lower cost bluetooth OBD-II hardware.

My car is a 2002 Maxima, Auto.
