Infamous wear on the shift ****. I have tried to contact Nissan/Dealer to rectify it because I know there was an old TSB for it. Didn't get anywhere.

I'm hoping you guys can give me some ideas on fixing this (on a budget).

I have heard guys have somehow pealed the remaining silver finish off, which is fine with me, I just don't want to wreck it even more. I have no idea what methods have been used to peal it off.

Is there a product I can use that would replicate the oils/salts in our hands that caused this in the first place, except much more rapidly? Or perhaps a good rubbing compound?


Thanks for any ideas, I will probably attempt pealing it off, but if there's a better idea I want to know about it before I just start pealing.
