Question about tires/rims

I got a 92 GXE, I want to buy some 15" rims for them, although I saw some good 16" rims I want, do I have to buy a whole different tires for the 16's? And I heard something about maybe some tires wont even line up if I put them on, whats that about?

You can't put 15" tires on a 16" rim. Tires come in all different sizes. They are measured at the diameter of the entire tire, the diameter of the opening for the rim, and the width of the tire. Get with a professional at tire barn or something and have them show you what size tire you need for what size rim you have. Also, not all rims fit on all cars. You have to think about wheel offset, lug pattern, lug offset... go to a tire store and seek help before you go spending your money.
