Well the kit is a big pain in the butt to remove. There is double sided tape and screws and bolts holding it to the body of the car. Do a search someone already posted it.

As for the headlights there are plenty of threads on how to bake em open so that you can instal the halos. you dont HAVE to have a new housing.

one of the problems - if we take your username as model of your car - you'll have to replace headlights for 2002-2003 (that's the way to get two halos aka angel eyes).

if you'll be selling a kit - I would love to get a front lip

Uh yeah the thread title is 20th anniversary..... obviously it's a 2001. That means he has the Halogen lights not the HID's the 5.5 has. So YES he does have to replace the housing for the 5.5 lights.

This won't help you with the angel eyes but should be a decent read. You can search for the angel eyes as well as the 5.5 headlight swap: http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...gentlemen.html

man, read into the OP's thread

if you check his/her username - it has 2000 in there and all AE's were coming as 2001 model year (although some were manufactured in year 2000), so who knows is the kit coming from the user's car or friend's; other idea - those two questions might be about different cars

he/she says that will be getting HIDs (some people put HIDs into 5gen halogen housings)... before halos, not 5.5 gen light - maybe that was your understanding?
- next question - will he or she have to change the box? - that might be considered as new lights or ballasts (maybe we should ask him/her what that one is about ), counting only 16 posts by OP he/she might not know how halos work

you can also get halos to work with regular 5gen light after projectors retrofit - of course it's going to be a single angel eye and look dumb, but tastes vary

I know you are pretty good with our cars lighting and led mods, but it was a bit too much even for me to stay quiet about

p.s. don't do judgment by the number of posts I've submitted, it is the same as number of hours I spent reading here

Yeah shaks I was mainly directing clarification at maxima_21, not so much you. In either case, yes that OP can be taken a few ways, sorry if it seems like I was hostile towards your post or something? It just seemed like it was assumed that this guy had 5.5 lights, which doesn't seem to be the case, but who knows.

Anyways, I wouldn't advise doing Halo's on anything but the 5.5 lights or the ebay look-a-likes.

No harm done. After rereading it i see that its more than likely the 5th gen headlights.

On the other hand,,, I have heard bad things about the ebay stuff leaking and just not being good quality....

sorry it's been a few days, if I were to try to take the front lip wouldn't there be like tape like residue all on the bottom of the car? and sorry for the confusion about the headlights, I still have the stock halogens in I was wanting to replace those with HIDS, and later on get halos with HIDS, I was wondering if I would have to get new HID boxes for the halos later on?

1.) Are you planning on putting HID's in your current housing s(00-01 housings)
2.) If the answer is yes, then I will strongly recommend not to and better yet use the 02-03 housings.
3.) Halos wont work with the 00-01 housings.
