i ordered a black 6 speed in november and now im wishing i had maybe gotten sterling mist or majestic blue. do me a favor and tell me what color you think i should have gotten so i can get some closure on this *****.

EDIT: i shouldnt have put the "other" choice in the poll. that doesnt help me much. so please dont vote "other" but thanks for the help to the people that already did.

 

I started out wanting a Majestic Blue 2002 and changed my mind to Merlot after seeing Merlot in person. I ordered Merlot and am waiting a call from the dealer eagerly.

I would've picked Black or Majestic Blue if it wasn't so hard to take care of. That's the reason why I would've went with the Sterling Mist. However if you don't mind washing your car twice a week then Black is a nice color.

 

I got Grey Lustre, but my second choice was Majestic Blue . I think it's a great color -- IMHO it's very classy and I haven't seen to many of them out there.

 

My 3 favorites in order,
Sterling mist, then white, then magestic blue.

I should note that I have a dark green max and I had a black I30, while these colors look good they are a pain to take care of. Swirel marks and stuff really stick out on a dark colored car. My new Sterling Mist car always looks clean even when it is real dirty.

 

I think the Grey Lustre is very nice with clear tails. White is sweet also but neither comes with black interior. I didn't want black and think it looks odd with clears. I have a Majestic Blue. IT is nice, but do not shine like black. The White looks larger, and gets attention. Neither the white or grey is popular here.

Not into Merlot, Tungsten Blue (eeekkk). Sterling Mist looks great when it looks silver. Don't like it as much when it looks more gold.

 

I'd be happy with black, seeing as how I have one, but keeping them clean is annoying. But you just can't beat the look of a clean black maxima.

 

I think most of the colors look very good. The only one I hate is Tungsten Blue, but I dont blame Nissan for producing them because there are people out there who prefer a color like that. I also dont like Sunlit Sand very much but I would still be able to live with it. Sherwood Green fell into the same category but now its discontinued. So my order would be.

1. Pearl White- But since it doesnt come with Black Leather, its disqualified, at least for me.
2. Majestic Blue- I love it and it does come with Black Leather (SE only).
3. Merlot- Very underrated color, one of the best Maxima colors for the past 5 years. Looks really nice and unique when clean and also comes with Black Leather, pretty rare.
4. Gray Lustre- Looks real nice, comes with Black Leather, looks very similar to the charcoal gray 3rd gen color. Nice metallic finish.
5T. Black on Black, Sterling Mist on Black. Probably the two most popular combinations but I'm not that crazy about either one.


I think the best looking Maxima ever would be a 2K2 with AE wheels and 2K-2K1 tail lights. (I think the new ones would be a nice touch for the GXE/GLE)

 

I have a black on black 6spd with polka dots. Check your paint carefully if you get black. Looks great, but the grey blotches under the clear coat suck!

What is merlot? Is it like maroon? I am not familiar with this color.. probably have seen it but can't tell by the name.

 

yeah its like maroon. sort of a reddish brown i guess. it looks classy.

 

Not exactly... Picture a Metallic Dark Red Wine color. Once I get mine I'll post some pictures. The only picture Nissan has of it doesn't look like what I saw in person.

That's a 2k2 Merlot except that's not really what it looks like. In person it honestly is darker than that.

i just called my dealer and unofficially changed my order to your #1. sterling mist with black leather. he's going to call me back to tell me if its doable without pushing my delivery date back.

 

wow the maroon (merlot) looks good with black leather but that would go best with a GLE....SE's need black or white and black leather

 

i agree. merlot looks awesome especially. i think it would fit a GLE's "personality" best. it may not be sporty enough for an SE. but the car will still look amazing no matter what the trim of the car.
