Dual O2 simulators w/heater to solve o2 sensor cels??

Have you guys already got secondary oxygen sensors code to come up you your rides?? Instead of replacing with 150$each NTK sensors, what you guys think of o2 simulators with heaters ??

I have used a dual o2 sim in the past for the secondary o2 sensors. 1 Simulator for 2 sensors.

I have had headers for 85k / 7 years and have yet to ever have a secondary O2 sensor code and I'm not using sims.

I ended up buying the 02 sims and heaters, but never installed the heaters. Due to the fact of a fire hazard. But I do have both rear 02 sensors connected with 02sims.

Where are you guys buying your o2 sims at nowadays? o2simulator.com seems to be on some kind of perpetual backlog...

Does anyone know of any places that have dual output o2 sims in stock. If not, can u technically use 2 single output sims?

That 3sx.com source has been getting bantered around here a lot lately, but I think you might be the first (that I know of) that actually used it on their Maxima.

Hotshot bought one, then started a dust-collection project.

I used Symtech labs one on my secondary (only have 1, 5th gen fed spec FTW) I just installed it 2 days ago and so far no CEL but now I have to get under the car and mount it safely I just have it zip tied to some hook near the test pipe

Don't know how you guys are mounting them should I find a good place under the car since the connector (the one going to the car) is ran through the floor and pokes out or should I extend the wires under the hood and mount it there?

I never knew its connector was run through the floor of the car like that I wasted hours looking for it under the hood

Edit just seen the one ranmas linked. mine is a complete install no sensor, so can I somehow get the connector thats run through the floor pulled back to the engine area I know its origin has to be somewhere in that area?

I installed a dual sim from 3sx and it works just fine (At first I thought it wasn't working, but the problem was with my method of extending the sensors, not the O2 sim) I passed emissions no problem. I just sold my car over the weekend tho.

There were a few people who have asked you in the other post, when you noted that samething, how you done this....but we have not gotten a response yet. Knight said you are using secondaries as primaries....but that is very vague. What happened to the primaries?? Would you care to share the deatails with us? This would help alot of people out there paranoid about getting headers, throwing codes and using sims.

My secondaries are plugged into my primary ports. So, I do still have primary codes, but that's irrelevant since my secondaries see no cat activity (if there is such a thing).

Hopefully, when I get my primaries plugged into their respective ports, I will have better end results, (i.e., no codes whatsoever).

Has Anyone tried these gizmos?

It looks like an interesting concept. It should work more reliably, than the mixed results I've read about using spark plug anti-foulers.

So what are the benefits to adding an O2 simulator?

Headers only have 2 o2 ports. We have 4 o2s. Don makes it seem like all 4 are plugged in to the ecu

To SIMulate the signals from the rear O2 sensors, which would otherwise throw a code for lack of catalyst in the exhaust.

The secondaries have to be plugged in somewhere, because they don't just monitor emissions... there's also a temperature sensor in the secondaries. But you're driving around with a SES warning light on your dash, which is a fail in my book, buddy.

I totally appreciate you selling me that old O2 Sim, but still don't understand why you didn't use it. That SES would drive me insane.

I though the primaries give readings to the ECU that effects performance

I rode around with my secondary unplugged for a few months and it threw the code for the heater circuit and I as well hated the SES light thats why I recently install a simulator and now no SES hopefully it stays that way, if that POS evap system doesnt throw a code again

~260whp/27 Highway MPG's/24 mixed MPG's, Not a big deal to me. I've driven the car less than 1000 miles in the past year, so yeah, not a big deal to me.

I'm not going to explain how O2 sensors work with the ECU, but yeah, check out the FSM, my set-up is fine.

I was working on my SRI and I unplugged the the MAFF sensor......wehn I was done started the car...instant SES light...I turned the car off then looked under the hood...forgot to plug the MAF back in...DUHHHH. Plugged MAF back in still have SES light......drove around 4 days thinking it would reset..NOPE. Had to take it to a mechanic and they said it was because of the MAF and it has to manually be reset...so they did it....$30. Whatever. But like ROC said...that FREAKIN SES light drove me CRAZY...looking at that thing just bothers me....like a PINK elephant in the living room!! So far that sim I gor from 3sx is working....no codes at all!!!

I always do the MAF thing and the code will stay there (IAT & MAF codes). That's what Cipher is for.

You should invest in one, highly suggested, very useful.

Ok..education time again.....I'm assuming cipher is some sort of OBD II scanner like what they use at the mechanics to clear and read codes? Where do you get this from? How much are they?

Well then, it must get plenty hot there between the IM and the engine cover. Or in this case, hot enough.
