NY 2000 GLE ATX Tan/Tan, bone stock, outstanding condition, 95k
2000 GLE ATX Tan/Tan, bone stock, outstanding condition, 95k [6500 OBO!!]
i looked long and hard for a max in this good of shape, but i can't afford the insurance since i moved to NYC (located in astoria FYI).
as the title says, its a 2000 GLE auto. it's totally stock with 95k and is in excellent condition. there are zero dents and zero rust on the body. there's a couple scratches in the rear bumper, but for a 11 year old car it's in great shape.
all the sheetmetal on the car is outstanding. interior is mint as well -- theres some wear on the climate controls but that's it.
in october, i had the following things done...
new tires, brake pads, alternator/harness, battery, and had the front bumper resprayed (perfect matching). i also got the radiator support reinforced so it'll be good for years. i've put about 5k on it since then. for you NY drivers, wipers are a month old. oil is fresh.
included with the car is both sets of keyfobs, a third spare key, and the original grinding tag. OEM cargo net is assembled and is in the back. i also have a still in-bag set of floor mats which will be included.
looking for 6200 OBO for this low-mileage beauty. i've never had any problems with it, and with all the maintenance thats been done, you won't either. sorry, no trades.
PM or post if you have any questions, thanks for looking...

thanks for the feedback... i hear you, not aiming for the average car at the average price though. its hard to price this one, since most available are higher mileage, four owner cars, which arent as up-to-date on their routine maintenance... i spent a good chunk of change on getting a low-mileage, one-owner car with an outstanding background, then doing EVERY routine maintenance item (and the radiator support isnt cheap). i do have an up-to-date carfax, by the way.... this car doesnt need anything, at all, and wont for some time. im hoping ill find someone who really appreciates that, but if not, im still open to offers!
Sounds like you have the right attitude. If you advertise it enough and can afford to wait, I'm sure you'll find the right buyer for your car. Most are in a hurry and have to make compromises on the price to get it sold faster. Good luck to you hopefully it finds a good home.
bump for obo... i guess im still high on price but when i look at similar mileage ones in the area theyre more expensive and in worse shape... i'm willing to work with the right buyer, let's make a deal.
so did you ever sell this car? Curious, as I just bought a 2000 GLE, exact same color. It had 108000 miles on it and was in just about perfect shape, very clean interior. Has a few maintenance issues that I need to take care of, but I bought it from a dealer for $6200. Clean carfax, one owner, softly driven. Had it checked out by a mechanic of course. Yours sounds a bit nicer, too bad you don't live in the midwest.
edit add---sure would like to know whether you sold this puppy or not and for how much.

yeah -- car did end up selling for 5700 or 5800 about 2 weeks ago. i would really have liked 6k but its been for sale for months and that was the only person whos come to look at it. probably could have gotten more if i waited, but i was starting to get impatient and again there was one serious buyer ive had and a few lowballs.

Your selling price sounds about right for a private sale. I paid a bit more than I wanted because I bought from a dealership, but they originally had the car listed at $7995 and I got them down to $6200 because of some maintenance work that needed to be done after I had the vehicle inspected. My guess is that they paid around $5000 on the trade-in (one owner vehicle--bought a new Infiniti). So you did better than what a dealer would have given you on a trade-in, about right for a private sale. Although I would have gotten you down to at least $5500.....

don't think you would have -- i had it for 6200, and would have walked away at 5500. they pushed pretty hard but i pushed harder and we ended up at 58. i also would very, very strongly consider keeping it at 5500 as it would be impossible to find another one this clean and well maintained at that price. and yes -- i had the top-of-the-line package with cars.com for like 3-4 months (the like 17 picture and free carfax one) and got a whopping two leads -- both lowballs. which reminds me, they had a money back guarantee on that one... moral of the story save your pennies and use craigslist. i had at least one "reasonable" lead a week when i posted on there.
