What's wrong with my Bose stereo?

I HAVE A '94 MAXIMA GXE THAT HAS A FACTORY BOSE STEREO/CD SYSTEM. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR, THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR SPEAKER DID NOT WORK. NOW, I DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE OTHER DAY AND NOTICED THAT MY STEREO WAS ON BUT NOT PUTTING OUT ANY SOUNG THROUGH ANY OF THE SPEAKERS. IT'S ALWAYS WORKED FINE, EXCEPT FOR THE FRONT SPEAKER. ANYBODY GOT ANY IDEAS? EVER SO OFTEN MY STEREO SYSTEM WOULD MAKE A POPPING NOISE, LIKE A SHORT, AND START PLAYING AGAIN. NOW, HOWEVER, IT HAS STOP PLAYING ALL TOGETHER. STEREO APPEARS TO STILL BE WORKING BECAUSE IT PICKS UP STATIONS AND YOU CAN HEAR THE CD PLAYER RUNNING. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. COULD IT BE THAT MY SPEAKER AMPS HAVE BITTEN THE DUST? TRUEMAX

Couldn't you have taken the stereo out and checked for crossed wires, or at the very least check your audio fuse before asking everyone?

the factory installed bose systems are crap. i just had to get a whole new system...it put out on me years ago... while i was shopping it, the sales person would ask what kind of car i had...as soon as i said nissan they all said that it was the bose system and all of the old nissans were having probs. w/ it. and it made the popping noise and all...it eventually got to where it was impossible to hear anything and you had to put the vol on max and put up with the popping to listen to anything. replacing it is a *****...just picking out the new crap - (i wouldn't recommend circut city)
