front end project 1998 i30

Hello,
I recently saved an 1998 infiniti i30 for $400, it was going to the crusher and i decided to buy it, great deal i know but it had some issues. First and foremost i had to get the car running right. Before i bought it from my friend someone got under the hood and ripped some wires out and messed with the throttle cable brackets. After a week long escapade of trying to figure out what this guy did to the poor car i got it running, and i must say she run's very well!! Now to the more pressing issue I'm doing some body work to the front end. My main goal is to get it looking like it did before it was wrecked. here is some pics:
:

This past weekend i started with the actual bumper and bumper brackets. Here's a pic of the old one that i took off. It took about an hour with a hack saw and a crow bar to get to the bolts to get the bad boy off.

Here's a picture of the new one, it was no easy task getting the bolts lined up so the bumper brackets would go back on to accommodate the bumper.

I got the hood to latch after installing the new bumper and bending the support back out my next step is to find a fender and hood at a junk yard and get it painted. If anyone is around the Nashville area and knows someone with a silver driver side fender or silver hood plz let me know that would be amazing. I'll keep posting as i get more done.

This is the cheapest hood on ebay shipped:

The fenders are just as expensive. Did you check the classifieds here on the forum?

1 little question,
is the front end still straight?
if the subframe has been bent or twisted then all your labor is for nothing. Might want to get that checked first if you don't know how to do it yourself

The wreck in the front end happened from the previous owner hitting a poll in a parking lot. SHE put the car in drive thinking it was in reverse and bumped a poll pretty good. I was looking for crinkles in the sub frame when i had the bumper off, but i didn't see any, but the alignment is a little messed up so i'm kinda worried. I don't believe that the sub frame was bent and if it were its nothing major. I going to get it realigned later this week and ill ask them to check the sub frame also. When i put the new bumper on the bumper cover lined up with the side that wasn't effected by the poll incident. so i think it's still pretty straight

be a good idea to do a cross measure of the front end, just to be safe. if it is out of whack the car won't track straight and be dificult to get alighned properly or worst case be dangerous to drive

Well boys its been awhile, the recession has hit pretty hard this way. Recently I've put a new serpentine belt on the car and changed all four disc brakes. I will say the back breaks are a monster to do with out the right tools. From the front end being banged up it also impacted my condenser for the a/c. Note to anyone with this same problem; If you have a 1998 4th gen then you need a 1998 4th gen a/c condenser. I pulled one off of a 1996 and it was to small. So keep that in mind anyone needing to change the a/c condenser on there car. Next step in this process is to get a new hood and fender then my car will be complete.
