Hard Question (electrical)

Hey everyone,

As some of you know, I have flasher module installed and I wanted to have flashing corner lights and turning lights from the same wire. Problem is when I would use corner lights, the turning lights will be on too and when I would use turning lights, corner lights will activate too.

The problem is to have turning and corner lights flash, the lights must be connected, therefore when they do their original function, electricity connects to other light and they both work

One option to make them work independently is to have some sort of relay or something that would make electricity flow only one direction, but not sure if things like that exist.

Any ideas?

I don't have time to try to make sense of that "schematic" lol; however I can tell you that Diodes allow the flow of electricity in one direction. This is a VERY basic description of what a diode is and what it does, but that's the basic idea. There are many specs associated with them such as voltage and current tolerances.

I would suggest doing some research on these semiconductors, they may help.

While we are on this topic, can someone please also indicate how to disable the indicator lights from coming on when one flips the headlamps on, but so the indicator lights come on WHEN one gives the indicator?

a diode. so you dont want the turning lights on, but you want the corner lights on?

I am running flash/strobe module and I want one module (positive wire) to make my corner lights and flashing lights work as strobe at the same time. Problem is when I connect that positive wire (coming from flash module) the corner light and turning light become connected because the positive wire from flash module connects to both of those lights.

Thats why diodes should help if I connect them between each light and flash module.

anything that is connected to your hid's...disconnect asap. if you use them your hids will be destroyed. those bulbs are not meant to be flashed rapidly.

so from in the pm you sent...you have 12v, gnd, mode 1 and mode 2, bulb 1 and bulb 2. im guessing mode 1 and mode 2 change the pattern? and bulb 1 and bulb 2 are coming from the factory wires tagged from the car? you have your corner and flashing lights...what is the light next to your fog lamp? a clearance light?

Looks really good. I'll definately look into that. Thanks a lot. Do you think diodes will not work though? Its just that diode is 10 cents when pac is $18

diodes will not work. hence the use for the timed relay

But you think I need timed relay? I think all I need is one flow direction
