Checked Ignition Timing using Timing Light...this is result
I've been having high BASE IDLE (Tps disconnected, 1300rpm) problems that has stumped many people. However with TPS connected, the ECu does its job and idles @ 750 fine (depending on adjustment screw setting on IACV). BUT, I know this isnt normal as base idle should be 550rpm, per FSM w/TPS unplugged.
This is the results of my timing with timing light @ 0* and 750 rpm in Park.

Is this normal? I dont even know where it should be, been scanning the FSM but can't find Ignition timing procedures. (yes i know its not adjustable without consult II)
So whats my timing at idle roughly look like? Advanced or retarded?

I am having the exact same problem after I did a 3.5 swap. I even get the same timing reading that you do using a timing light and verified it on my OBD2 reader. But, along with being unable to set the idle properly, I also have a random misfire (p0300) that trips a CEL after a while. I have had this random misfire for over a year and feel it is due to the ECU pulling timing to get the idle down. Do you have any misfiring? Did you solve your problem?
