Able to get a 2k2 SE auto for 19,950!

A local Nissan dealership has a 2k2 SE auto Max for 19,950. This Max has 0 miles on it. This is after the $750 college rebate (few more montsh & im done so i better tack this on to the price) and i get a $1000 off for loyal customer (i bougt my 4th gen from them). What do you guys think of this deal? Final is $20,700 w/o tax.

No im not getting it but my mom needs a new car and was looking into gettin this for her.

I plan on getting a MKIV.

My mom hates driving stick. She drove stick for a few years and hates it considering she drives into the city everyday.

Hey, at least my previous car was stick. Damn DSM's.

I would love to 100 shot that car. I wonder what it would run. hmmmm.....

I'd be wary if the Odometer has 0 miles on it. The minimum you'll ever get from a brand-spanking-new car on a dealers lot is 1 mile at the least.

The car is driven from the factory to the lot, from the lot to the loading dock and from there to the boat.

Add a reverse process from the boat - dock - loading truck - dealers lot and you get at least a mile on the odometer.

In that case. That's an awesome price! I paid at least $3.5k more for mine. That's with the 7yr/75000 mi extended warranty bundled in tho.

How can they pull that off? I definitely have to believe that is way below their invoice price...

Sounds like an ok deal to me. Are they forcing you to use their financing, or can you pay cash? Are they giving you the $500 rebate? Make sure, 5 bills is 5 bills, nothing to be shy about.

They wouldn't give me the collge discount when I got my SE, said I had a Masters or some BS. So I just negotiated some more until I felt comfortable. See if you can move that price a little lower, it doesn't hurt.

thats a great deal, at the dealership i bought my car from, they are selling 2k2 gxe's for about $22k, and correct me if i am wrong, those things msrp for like $24.7k or something. i thought that was a good deal, but less than $20k for a 2k2, thats a great deal.

nismo2020, the 6 speeds are the same as a auto, i checked nissandriven.com, kinda wierd cause manuals are usually cheaper than autos by like $800-$1000.

Ita pretty crazy. I have no idea why its so cheap. I mean i bought my 99 GXE in 99 for 17,500 plus $750 college (b/c im not done yet) + $1000 (b/c i wasnt considered a lyoal customer yet). I thought that was a good deal too. It does seem like its way belower dealer cost.

it's the end of the month and the year. they need to be profitable per month and per year. also it's always nice to have extra space on your lot

dang I feel jealous, I paid 19,800 for my 2k GXE 5spd, and thats 150 over invoice, + 160 for carpet mats and splash guards. I would not pass such a deal on 2k2 SE, even an auto.

There is a catch to it, the additional add-ons are $750 for college rebate & a $1000 for loyal customer. I would get charged for the $750 but not $1000 since i bought my 99 from them.

My 99 GXE was listed for 17,xxx from teh same place in an ad like you see. I went there to look at it, talked to a sales rep. I had to pay teh $750 since i wasnt done in college & paid teh $1000 since i wasnt considered a "loyal customer". Since i bought my 99 from them, i get that $1000 off. I paid the 17,xxx + $750 + $1000 + tax.

The catch: There are only certain colors they have and its a base model SE shown. Its based on a first come first served.

I dont know everyone is makin this so difficult.

I know why bro.. its because they never got or can't get such good deals.. so they have to justify spending all that money or getting ready to spend all that money..

What's with the skepticism? I got my 1998 at $2700 below invoice, 2k was covered by the 2k rebate. The rest is $700 into the dealer's holdback. That gave them a profit of at least $300 plus their factory-dealer incentive.

There really is a fascination with "dealer cost," which is bogus. Dealer sells at "cost" they make around $900 profit plus the incentives. For every buyer who gets below invoice, there's another who pays 26-27k to make up for it.

Seems like people who didn't get a good deal themselves knock those who did!

If the dealer sells at cost there is a 2.5% hold back, so on a $20,000 car the dealer whould get $500 back. Now this rule is not always true, for each month the car sits on lot they lose 33% of the hold back. After the 3 months they start paying 33% of the 2.5%, so if a dealership has a car on the lot for 4 months and sells the car at invoice they will lose money.

There are no dealer incetives at this time, the last one I saw was for 5spd 2001 GXE's, there has been none for the 2002's. There is however $500 cash back on maximas for the buyer, not the dealer.

Ita pretty crazy. I have no idea why its so cheap. I mean i bought my 99 GXE in 99 for 17,500
Sure, I have no problem believing that, a 99 GXE base modle was what? About $21,900 MSRP, right? All 98 and 99 maximas were selling at or below invoice in 99, that's nothing new. It's a bit different for a just remodeled 2002 SE with a MSRP of $25,995. $19,995 is impossible, I just don't beleive it, sorry.

i heard of these deals before, its just for a few cars, i guess you can call them "rejects" or something, maybe its because the color choice is not favorable to most and thats why they aren't selling many, or because its a base model and maybe more people buy the fully loaded? whatever it is, its not gonna be there for long, so for less than $20k on a new 2k2, GRAP IT FAST!
btw, i see similar deals like that on accords, 4door 4cyl LX auto models for less than $15k, the ones that usually have an MSRP of around $20k, so i can believe that a 2k2 base can go for $20k, and come on, you have the ad to prove it!

Still too good to be true. That sticker on the photo indicates the MSRP, which is not the actual sale price. If the alter it (you see where it says buy it for 19,499)then check if the dealer is indeed letting the car go for that much without requiring you to buy additional options. Sometimes dealers just install things like pinstriping, convenience net, and other crap, charge $$, and tell the buyer that the car is sold only with these features...that's the way to raise up the price. Also, that could be a demo with 20K mi on it..But if it is all "kosher", buy it right away.

I used to be like you

I'm dating myself, because in my day (1998) there were ads for GXE's, 17,995. I didn't believe it. I was such a disbeliever, I went to a dealer in Queens NY and I asked if I could buy the car in the ad. The salesman told me the car in the ad is sold, but there are 2 other cars avail at that price. I said can I test drive it, he said no, not the strippers, but I'm welcome to do a convenience packaged GXE, any SE, or GLE. He told me if I want that price, I have to pick up the car by Monday and have cash or my own financing. He told me it's legit, the cars were 5-spds, and not many people want them. He told me that most people want autos, and that they would not offer a similar discount on autos (meaning only 1k more).

But I did better. Eventually I thought outside the box (or triangle in slang terms). I applied the same discount to a car that listed for 29,380, ie at another dealer I nabbed the 2700 below invoice. So you see, figuratively there is a Santa Claus. If you can take it or leave it you can get the price you want, and you really have to be able to not buy a car if you don't like the price. If you have to be the first on the block, you pay a very very steep premium. We're talking thousands $$$.
