Haltech Platinum Pro 350z PnP on 5.5Gen

Has anyone here used the Haltech Platinum Pro PnP 350z on the 5.5 Gen? I know Suratt makes a PnP harness for the Haltech to fit the 5.5 Gen max like he does the UTEC. He told me he wired one for someone in NYC for their maxima. I know its expensive but I'm doing a full engine build (sleeves, bore, cams, pistons, etc) and want something pretty powerful, user friendly and still keep my OBDII to pass emmissions. Keep getting the negative comments from tuners when I call and ask about the UTEC tuning.

I know that Deckdout2 was planning on using the Haltech on his 5.5 gen maxima. But I believe he had sold that unit to somebody else.

My assumption would be that you would get better feedback in the FI or AM forums.

The day that dealers offer PnP's is the day that I will actually take my car to the dealer.

For the 5.5 gen market, probably not now, not ever, aside from Surra. There are a few that do for Z33's and such though.

Exactly......most Maxima owners not trying to fork up $3k to do Haltech, especially if you only have headers, catback, spacers, intake, etc...for bolt ons Haltech may be overkill...but for engine build its great....how many maxima owners doing engine builds?? Look at the forums for the $800 cattman headers....people complain about how expensive they are.....then go buy OBX for $300.....cmon now. That's why there is little to NO support. That is why there is SOOOO much more support for 350z/G35....they are sports cars and people who buy them tend to be a different type of market of people.....them dudes spend TONS of money on engine mods, cams, pistons, turbos, etc.....all day long! The support issue is the MAIN reason I was just considering buying a G35 coupe and starting from there. The 5.5 Gen was like the beginning of the VQ35DE.....now the VQ35 engine is so advanced.....makes our engines look like dinosaurs. The only good thing is that alot of aftermarket internal parts made for 350z can fit into the 5.5 Gen as well or made to fit fairly easy........I even seen one post where the dude put a 350z intake manifold on his maxima....that manifold flows better than ours. I just don't like having to fabricate everything.

Pretty much nobody is willing to spend the $2k and up for the Haltech Platinum. Not on these boards. We all know the majority of maxima owners are cheap

And that's why there is no market for the 5.5gen.

Hmm, somehow this sounds so familiar.

Jime saw his best ET with the FWD IM on, and his best trap with the Z33 + MREV on.

This has been beaten up quite a bit where even the Z guys though the FWD IM might flow better. There are threads that cover this to near infinium here & my350z.

Personally, I think the way to go is what Sparks and smokinjoe have done. Although, not many have FWD's w/Z33IM's + dynos to prove anything definitive though.
