My car is not running again.

My 98 max is having a hard time getting to start the first time of the day.I turn the key it putters and pops and then starts fine all day.But it wont run correctly,it bogs down when I give it gas.I changed the MAf twice and replaced the fuel filter and still does the same thing.Could it be my coils?Last time I checked the codes only the maf came up,but that was before I tried 2 other maf's?Any ideas, could it be that all 3 maf's I tried including the one that was on the car before are all bad?

Are you getting any codes besides the MAF? Were the replacement MAFs brand new or used from a junkyard or e-bay?

If you had bad ignition coils, the engine would be missing and running rough. Is it?

You could also have a problem with one of the crank sensors or one of the cam sensors.

I agree with this.. You have to be a little more specific. Mine was doing the same thing an I did the same thing u did as far as the MAFs. But mine never threw a code.. But I replaced it anyway. But you need to be more discriptive.

I checked to see if the Intake Air Temperature Sensor was plugged in all the way, well it was not??I connected it and ran it a bit, starts right up but still bogs down a bit, but runs alot better now,so I'll go and buy a new one tomorrow. It's crazy I swear I checked that connection before to see if it was plugged in..lol

Coolant temp sensor can mess up starting because (I think) it controls the mixture when the car is cold, so pretty important.

engine coolant tepm sensor is a majorrrr reason ur cars is acting like it is get a new one, not used-a new one put it on and you will see how much better it runs and drives

You said it. The ECU controls the fuel mixture based on the temperature sensor reading ALL the time the engine is running, hot or cold.

In the op's case, if the temperature sensor is reporting too high a temperature, the ECU will lean out the fuel mixture, the exact opposite of what a cold engine needs.
