NEED ADVICE..07 max no bose stock system

so my 07 max without bose with the stock 6x9 subwoofers in the back are going bad.. what are my options of replacement?

im having a hard time finding 6x9 subwoofers so im thinking of replacing them to mayb 8, 10 or 12.. apparently the stock ones are 2ohms

can i go with 4 ohms subs will it affect the sound negatively and also what brand should i go with?? im totally clueless give me a few ideas on setups i do not want to change the door speakers or the stock headunit

If you wanna go with 8" woofers I suggest you run them to a aftermarket amplifier not to the oem system.

if you want just a replacement, i would look into tang band. they make 6x9 subwoofers.

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=264-837

only prob is that they're 8 ohm...you wont get much power out of the stock amps. i would just get a dedicated 10" (or hell even an 8") subwoofer in a simple enclosure to augment your bass response. but this route will be bit more costly.

I would get new amp and same size subs, but free air subs are not too good and hard to find, so best solution IMO is get 8inch sub box and power it up

thanks everyone for your replies...

the audio guys i went to claim that the rear deck were not subwoofers and that they are speakers and crutchfield.com says that in the rear deck:

"The factory woofer(s) in this location receive only bass frequencies from the amplifier. If replaced with aftermarket speaker(s), the aftermarket speaker(s) will only reproduce bass"

im looking at this setup right now i think they might work... wat do you think?

http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-6929I.../ref=de_a_smtd

and as far as an amp..

http://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KAC-15.../ref=de_a_smtd

im thinking i might not need the amp if that statement above is true

You need an aftermarket amp because of the difference in impedance.

Get a small subwoofer - either build it free air into the rear deck or put it in a small box in your trunk.
