like stated i rented them from autozone. im gonna remove all the Freon and Vaccum the system out make sure its dry of moisture and air because its not as cold as it should be and i know they didnt vaccum it when it was wrecked and new ac condensor was put in.


anyways i threw the gauges on but i dont know what the pressure should be neither high or low side, so what would be the recromended pressure for both sides?

 

If youre pulling a vacuum on it then you want the gauges to read below zero. Preferably around 2 bars below atmospheric pressure...what would read 30 below the zero on the gauges.
Now when it comes to charging it, it all depends on outdoor temperature. Try to have a fan blowing on the front of your car, itll keep you from having a high than normal high pressure reading due to the car just sitting and relying on the cars cooling fans.

Actually, can you post a pic of the gauges so I know which ones you have? I normally use the manifold set I have for work which also reads R22, 410a, and 404a as well as 134a.

Actually the instructions in that write-up are pretty good. It'd be ok to go by those.

As long as your AC line connections are snug, you wont blow out any o-rings. The only way that could happen is if your system is way over charged.

 

worked good, i turned on Vaccum pump let it pump for about 9 minutes and it got to 20 on vaccum i turned it off let it sit then filled it up. much much colder. i got the high side at 215psi and low side is around 40psi assuming thats good cause its very cold.



i was thinking AFTER i did it but should i of let the Vaccum pump run longer? the reason i didnt is because it was goin close to 30psi of Vaccum.

 

Those pressures look good. I wouldve pulled a vacuum longer. You can never pull too much of a vacuum. Last time I did mine I ran it for almost an hour. Pulled max_dreamer's for about 30 minutes. Really all depends on how long the system has been open and how much moisture is in the air.
If you start getting intermittent cooling/warm air problems then you'll know you still have air in the lines and youll need to evacuate it and recharge again.

 

no it stays very very COLD Now lol i love it, only reason i did this was cause i got bunch of freon for free at work sub zero R134a and had some spare time and wanted to play with the Maxx.


the drier looks new so i figured who ever wrecked it didnt vaccum system out before putting new part in ac system. now the ac is ice cold before it was cold but not ice cold so i know it had to have crappy freon in it or moisture and air.

 

Did the freon have oil in it, or did you add some to the system first? After vacuuming the system, you need to replace the oil.
